Job Description:
As a Platform Architect, you bring deep Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) Engagement expertise and a strong consulting mindset. You will guide clients through the technical direction of their SFMC environments and help them design, build, and optimize their digital messaging programs across email, mobile, and other engagement channels.
In this role, you’ll work directly with clients as a trusted technical advisor. You’ll help identify opportunities, recommend scalable solutions, and deliver hands-on development. You’ll partner closely with email developers, strategists, analytics teams, account managers, and project managers to ensure every solution is thoughtful, reliable, and impactful.
You will report to the Technical Manager and works closely with developers, project managers, strategists, and client stakeholders. This role offers a growth path into Senior Platform Architect and leadership positions within the team.
What You’ll DoTechnical Architecture & Platform SupportDesign and support end-to-end SFMC Engagement architecture for assigned clients
Translate client requirements into clear, scalable technical solutions
Conduct platform audits and health checks to uncover risks and optimization opportunities
Build, review, and refine automations, journeys, segmentation logic, and campaign workflows
Develop custom solutions using AMPscript, SSJS, SQL, GTL, and API integrations (REST/SOAP)
Serve as the primary technical point of contact for your assigned clients
Provide proactive recommendations and help clients adopt new features and best practices
Translate complex technical topics into clear guidance for both technical and non-technical audiences
Contribute to client roadmaps aligned to business goals and digital marketing best practices
Create and maintain documentation such as solution designs, data flow diagrams, and architecture maps
Contribute to shared internal libraries of best practices, reusable assets, and standards
Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality projects on time
Troubleshoot platform issues and escalate when needed
Stay current on SFMC releases and ecosystem updates to improve client solutions
3–5+ years of hands-on experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engagement
Proficiency in at least two SFMC languages (AMPscript, SSJS, SQL, GTL)
Experience working with REST and SOAP APIs
Strong understanding of SFMC architecture (data extensions, automations, Journey Builder, Contact Builder)
Two or more Salesforce certifications (e.g., Marketing Cloud Email Specialist, Administrator, Consultant, Developer)
Experience with SFMC Connector or similar integration patterns
Background in development or technical architecture
Experience working in a client-facing or consulting capacity
Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to a range of stakeholders
Strong problem-solving skills and comfort working through incomplete information
Ability to capture requirements and document workflows through discovery sessions
Understanding of digital messaging best practices across email, mobile, push, and related channels
Familiarity with compliance and deliverability (such as CAN-SPAM, GDPR)
The annual salary range for this position is $68,000 - $110,400. Placement within the salary range is based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other factors permitted by law.
