Job Summary
The Physician Referral Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Physician Referral Center. The Supervisor is the main contact for issues in the center and responsible for resolution of these issues. Has responsibility to hire, train, develop, and discipline the Physician Referral Center Staff.
Responsibilities
• Responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the Physician Referral Center staff including prioritization of work, staff coverage amongst workgroups, and training and development for new and current employees
• Assists in the manager in human resources objectives, including hiring, transferring, developing, disciplining and termination of employees.
• Review all incoming referrals and schedule appointments for various practices and specialties.
• Communicates referral information and confirmation with patients and referring physician/office staff.
• Proactively works with various insurance providers to pre-certify patient tests, therapies, appointments, etc. when required by managed care organizations.
• Counsels' patients on financial procedures regarding pre-certified tests, procedures, and appointments.

Experience
Minimum Required
- 5 years in a healthcare related field
Preferred/Desired
- A year of Supervisor experience
Education
Minimum Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or Health Care related.
Special Skills
Minimum Required
- Computer literate. Appropriate skills to interact with hospital employers and industry to provide services. Skills in communicating clearly and effectively to achieve high production and efficiency.
