Responsibilities- Deliver production PIC test capacity and capability
- Meet growing production numbers and tight deadlines in close collaboration with our InP wafer fab locations in Sunnyvale and South San Jose
- Expand test lab infrastructure in our new large lab space
- Lead cross-functional team efforts to improve test efficiency, capability and capacity of existing wafer- and die-level test infrastructure to meet production ramp requirements
- Manage hardware and engineering resources efficiently and set the right priorities
- Expand the PIC Production Test team
- Lead a team of highly skilled and motivated engineers and technicians
- Source and hire talented PIC Test engineers and technicians
- Establish effective on-boarding/training process for new hires
- Help team members to grow through mentoring/coaching
- Lead with technical excellence
- Encourage and support continual development of production test hardware and software
- Leverage R&D Test team to define and implement detailed testability requirements
- Work closely with our Operations team to ensure new product introduction (NPI) test hardware, software, and procedures meet production requirements
- Support existing product line testing by executing product test related Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) or Change Notices (CNs)
- Ph. D or MS in Photonics, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or similar
- Minimum 5 years photonic or opto-electronic devices industry work experience
- Experience in managerial role(s)
- Experience with hiring and team expansion is a plus
- Fundamental understanding of active and passive optical semiconductor devices, and optical fundamentals like waveguide modes, polarization, coherence, and interference
- Ability to work cross-functional environment with closely meshed teams
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
