People Partner

Hello, I’m Danielle, Senior Director, People Experience at Customer.io! We're expanding our people team in the United States and seeking a People Partner to support our global team in a fast-paced, innovative environment. This is a great fit for an HR professional with a few years of experience who's ready to deepen their impact as a partner to the business.

The People Partners at Customer.io are advocates for our people, leveraging their skills in data analytics, change management, and industry knowledge. They use these skills to enhance Customer.io’s transformation, agility, and efficiency, delivering meaningful outcomes for both our team members and the business.

You'll work alongside a cross-functional team to support talent management, development, retention, and organizational effectiveness. Strong communication, critical thinking, and a foundation in workforce planning will set you up for success. If you're passionate about contributing to a supportive, high-performing culture, we'd love for you to join our collaborative team.

About Customer.io

Over 8,000 companies — from scrappy startups to global brands — use our platform to send billions of emails, push notifications, in-app messages, and SMS every day. Customer.io powers automated communication that people actually want to receive. We help teams send smarter, more relevant messages using real-time behavioral data.

Some things you'll do:
  • Support business alignment: Partner with departmental leaders to understand business needs and help develop plans that build organizational capabilities and support growth.
  • Performance management: Own and elevate our review cycles end to end — lead the annual and bi-annual processes, guide calibration and compensation decisions, and coach managers to build accountability and develop talent across the team.
  • Employee relations: Guide managers and employees through day-to-day questions and concerns with fairness and sound judgment, fostering a positive, respectful work environment.
  • Organizational development: Help assess team structures and work with leaders to identify areas for improvement and put changes into practice.
  • Change management support: Support organizational change efforts and help build change-readiness across teams.
  • Leadership support: Build strong working relationships with managers to understand their needs in the context of business goals, and provide day-to-day partnership and guidance.
  • Data analysis: Review and analyze People metrics and analytics (including employee experience and lifecycle data) to spot trends and support informed decisions.
  • Employee engagement: Work with leaders to roll out engagement initiatives.
  • People programs support: Help develop and implement people programs that foster employee growth and development.
  • People team support: Be an active member of the People Experience team, contributing to strong HR capabilities.
About you:
  • You're a self-starter with strong communication and presentation skills.
  • You've got a knack for creative problem solving and avoid a one-size-fits-all approach.
  • You're a champion for change, supporting leaders and employees through change initiatives.
  • You care about employee engagement, team members' well-being, and DEIB, and are eager to help build programs that support them.
  • You understand the importance of tailoring programs, strategies, and suggestions to fit different needs.
  • You're agile and adaptable, with a growth mindset for learning new skills.
What we're looking for:
  • HR Experience: 5+ years of progressive HR/People experience, ideally as an HRBP or People Partner supporting multiple teams or functions. You bring real depth across organizational design, change management, performance management, DEIB, culture championing, coaching and development, and people programs such as rewards and recognition. A strong foundation in People data and analytics — using metrics to diagnose issues and drive decisions — is especially important for this role.
  • Business Acumen: Ability to understand performance objectives that drive business outcomes, and to leverage data and analytics to support informed business decisions.
  • Experience with Management: Experience partnering with leaders and demonstrating influence and accountability in support of the people agenda.
  • Global Perspective: Ability to establish trust, fairness, and credibility with team members, managers, and cross-functional partners in a global environment.
  • Collaborative Problem Solver: Ability to work seamlessly with key partners across the People Team, including Recruiting, People Operations, and Total Rewards.
