About the Role
We’re looking for a reliable, detail-oriented, personable and proactive People Operations Generalist to join our lean People team at Kinetic. This is a unique role ideal for someone who loves the thrill of the candidate hunt but also enjoys the organizational puzzle of people operations, company culture, and event logistics.
Reporting directly to the Sr. Director of People Operations, you will wear many hats. Half of your time will be spent driving our recruiting efforts such as sourcing candidates, managing pipelines, and delivering a world-class candidate experience. The other half will be spent supporting the employee lifecycle - everything from onboarding and all the way through to offboarding. You’ll manage internal logistics like swag, vendors, and our highly anticipated annual team meetings.
As a fully remote team, you will be a critical anchor in keeping our processes smooth, our pipelines moving, and our culture vibrant. Your warmth, energy, and communication style will be the first thing people experience when they interact with Kinetic, leaving them with a lasting impression about our company.
- Source & Engage: Proactively source and engage top-tier technical and non-technical candidates through multiple channels.
- Pipeline Management: Keep our hiring pipelines organized, move candidates through the process efficiently, and run/facilitate internal hiring meetings.
- Candidate Experience: Serve as the primary point of contact for candidates, managing all communications with transparency, quick responsiveness, and a high degree of empathy. You’ll ensure every candidate leaves with a positive impression of Kinetic, regardless of the hiring outcome.
- Data Integrity: Maintain accurate data and reports within our recruiting systems to keep hiring managers aligned.
- Onboarding & Offboarding: Own the logistics of welcoming new hires (coordinating WFH setups, schedules, and orientation) and managing smooth offboarding processes, with support from the Sr. Director of People Operations.
- Event Logistics: Support running RFP processes for hotels, venues, and vendors for our annual company-wide meetings and retreats.
- Culture & Swag: Manage our company swag inventory, from ordering and designing to global distribution for new hires and milestones.
- Ad-Hoc Projects: Support the Director of People Operations on administrative tasks, process improvements, and compliance projects as needed.
- Culture Ambassadorship: Bring a positive, welcoming energy to our internal Slack channels, onboarding sessions, and team events, helping to build a sense of belonging in a remote workspace.
HR Generalist Administration (~10)
- First-Line Employee Support: Act as the primary, friendly point of contact for day-to-day employee inquiries regarding company policies, PTO tracking, and basic benefits navigation, escalating complex issues to the Director when necessary.
- Documentation & Compliance: Help maintain and update our employee handbook, internal wikis, and company policies to ensure our documentation evolves alongside our growing startup.
- Employee Relations Support: Respond to and log minor employee relations concerns with high empathy, neutrality, and absolute confidentiality.
- Systems Maintenance: Ensure our employee files, HR systems, and organizational charts stay accurate and up to date as team members onboard or transition.
- Handle other administrative tasks as assigned
- Experienced: You have 2–4 years of experience in a recruiting, talent coordination, or People Ops role, ideally within a fast-paced startup or remote environment.
- The Ultimate Coordinator: You possess stellar project management skills. Managing hotel RFPs, tracking swag shipments, and scheduling complex interviews across time zones sounds like a fun puzzle to you.
- A Strong Communicator: You write clear, engaging emails and build quick rapport with both candidate prospects and internal executives.
- A Natural "People Person": You possess incredibly high EQ. You are warm, approachable, and have a unique ability to make people feel comfortable and valued, whether over a Zoom screen or a written email.
- Tech-Savvy & Adaptive: You pick up tools quickly. You understand the rhythm of a remote workforce and don't need hand-holding to keep projects moving.
- Dependable & Discreet Problem solver: You take pride in high-quality follow-through and understand how to handle sensitive employee data with absolute confidentiality. When an employee comes to you confused about benefits or PTO, you naturally respond with patience, clarity, and a helper’s mentality.
- Process-Driven: You love clean documentation. Turning scattered policies into a clear, easy-to-read employee handbook or Notion page sounds incredibly satisfying to you.
- Experience using an ATS like Greenhouse or a sourcing tool like Gem.
- Prior experience working in a fully remote company.
- Experience hiring or working within the Insurtech space.
- Certification in SHRM or HRCI
- Filling out this form in addition to your application. This includes a link for you to share a short video message from you about yourself and why you are interested in this role.
