The People & Culture Manager will lead HR initiatives, oversee recruitment, ensure compliance, and drive employee engagement, aligning people strategies with business goals.
Ready to accelerate your career?
Cardata is where driven people make an outsized impact. We’re a small but mighty team transforming how businesses manage vehicle reimbursement — replacing outdated programs with smart, automated solutions.
Our vision is bold: to provide the most comprehensive, intelligent, and automated software and services for creating ideal vehicle programs. And we’re building toward that vision every single day.
Join us and you’ll find challenge, growth, and the chance to deliver real impact — helping hundreds of companies and thousands of drivers across North America focus on the work that matters most to them.
We’re seeking a People & Culture Manager to own and scale Cardata’s core people initiatives— growth and development, performance management, total rewards, manager enablement, employee experience, and talent acquisition—through a strategic, business-aligned lens. This is a hands-on, high-impact role that blends program leadership with resource planning and advocacy. You’ll partner closely with Finance, Marketing, Sales, Product and Engineering leaders, ensuring our people programs drive measurable business outcomes during a period of rapid growth and major product launches.
What you'll be doing:
- End-to-end ownership of growth and development, performance management, total rewards, and manager enablement initiatives
- Translate programs into impact by defining clear success metrics (e.g. time-to-fill, retention, employee NPS) and reporting on SLAs and KPIs
- Drive continuous improvement by proactively identifying gaps, recommending solutions, and iterating based on frontline feedback
- Partner with managers to track team capacity, identify bottlenecks and develop models to predict resourcing requirements
- Partner with Finance on compensation, budgeting and headcount modelling that deliver clear ROI to the business
- Oversee recruitment ops in partnership with hiring managers, focusing on speed, quality, and values alignment
- Advise with confidence on employment law, policy interpretation, and risk, ensuring compliance without bureaucracy
- Build frameworks and coach managers to make informed, equitable, and performance-aligned pay decisions
- Serve as a trusted advisor to managers—tailoring communication, providing clear recommendations, and offering tough-love coaching
- Shape and reinforce Cardata’s employee experience through no-fluff frameworks around clarity, fairness, enablement, trust, and growth
What you'll bring:
- Alignment with our Core Values
- 7–12 years of HR or People Operations experience, with 2–3 years owning end-to-end programs in scaling or high-growth SaaS or technology-driven environments (in-house work at a SaaS company is a must)
- Demonstrated ability to influence executive decision-making with clarity, data, and sound judgment
- Strong track record of recruiting high-quality technical and non-technical talent and building and maintaining a strong network of top talent
- Operational strength, with the ability to build smart systems, create clarity, and move fast
- Demonstrated strategic thinking, translating people initiatives into business outcomes (renewals, pipeline, quality, scalability)
- Proven track record of resource planning & advocacy, including building business cases that led to additional headcount or budget
- Deep understanding of Canadian employment law (U.S. knowledge is a strong plus)
- Hands-on experience with HR analytics and tech (e.g. Lattice, Greenhouse/Ashby, OpenComp/Radford) and owning SLA/KPI reporting
- Excellent written and verbal communication: concise, data-driven, and tailored to senior audiences
- Nice-to-Haves: Experience in M&A integration or supporting post-merger people initiatives and experience managing and mentoring a small team or direct reports
