Headway’s mission is a big one – to build a new mental health care system everyone can access. We’ve built technology that helps people find great therapists with the first software-enabled national network of providers accepting insurance.

1 in 4 people in the US have a treatable mental health condition, but the majority of providers don’t accept insurance, making therapy too expensive for most people. Headway is building a new mental healthcare system that everyone can access by making it easy for therapists to accept insurance and scale their practice.

Headway was founded in 2019. Since then, we’ve grown into a diverse, national network of over 60,000 mental healthcare providers across all 50 states who run their practice on our software and have served over 1 million patients. We’re a Series D company with over $325m in funding from a16z (Andreessen Horowitz), Accel, GV (formerly Google Ventures), Spark Capital, Thrive Capital, Forerunner Ventures and Health Care Service Corporation.

We want your time here to be the most meaningful experience of your career. Join us, and help change mental healthcare for the better.

About The Role

At Headway, we aim to support our providers in offering high-quality, safe and effective clinical care. As a Clinical Quality Peer Educator, you will support our Ongoing & Focused Professional Practice Evaluation Program by participating in the clinical quality review processes and supporting providers in education and professional development. We are seeking Clinical Quality Peer Educators in the Headway network for programs that are designed to bolster the support Headway provides for our clinician network.

You’ll be great for this role if:

  • You are a current licensed therapist or professional counselor – you have 3+ years of therapy experience.
  • You have extensive knowledge of evidence based care standards and a proven ability to translate that knowledge to improve care.
  • You have experience completing quality chart reviews and audits for healthcare delivery organizations and have trained others on how to document to meet standard of clinical care regulations.
  • You are an expert communicator and educator - with experience in conveying information to large and diverse groups of individuals.
  • You are comfortable working with different tech stacks and adapting to various healthcare technology platforms

Role responsibilities:

  • Perform routine screening and monitoring of charts to identify gaps in clinical documentation that fall below industry standards for high-quality, safe patient care.
  • Review clinical decision-making processes and the use of evidence-based treatment modalities.
  • Perform in-depth performance improvement planning for providers falling below established standards of care and demonstrate ability to improve clinical care through clinician support program
  • Maintain documents related to chart review in an organized, encrypted, searchable file with highest standards of privacy and confidentiality
  • Work consistently in provided workflows for the seamless collection, review, and feedback processes for providers

Compensation and Benefits:

We have multiple roles for Clinical Quality Peer Educators, requiring approximately 10 hours weekly. Each will be reimbursed at an hourly rate of $125 and requires the individual to set up or have an existing LLC or S-Corp.

If you're interested in joining us as a contracted Clinical Quality Peer Educator we'd love to hear from you. Please take a moment to fill out this brief survey to share your interest and availability: Interest/availability survey.
