The Payroll Specialist will manage employee payroll processing, maintain records, ensure compliance with laws, and respond to payroll inquiries.
ProCon Home Inc seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Payroll Specialist to manage and process employee payroll accurately and on time. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with company policies and applicable labor laws while maintaining strict confidentiality of payroll information.
Key Responsibilities
- Process payroll for employees on a weekly, biweekly, or monthly basis
- Maintain accurate payroll records, including hours worked, deductions, and benefits
- Verify timesheets and resolve payroll discrepancies
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Prepare and distribute paychecks or direct deposits
- Manage tax filings, garnishments, and benefit deductions
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a professional manner
- Assist with audits and financial reporting as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred)
- Proven experience in payroll processing or accounting
- Strong knowledge of payroll software and systems
- Understanding of wage and hour laws and tax regulations
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
Preferred Skills
- Experience with ADP, Paychex, QuickBooks, or similar payroll systems
- Familiarity with HR processes and employee benefits administration
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
