Job Summary & Responsibilities
The Payroll Admin will report to the Payroll Manager in the Finance Department. This role is responsible for assisting in the bi-weekly payroll process in an efficient and accurate manner. The role will also serve as a liaison for the third-party payroll system. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, possess excellent organization skills, and operate accurately in a fast-paced environment.• Assist in the processing of bi-weekly payroll for approximately 1,400 employees.• Ensure that time sheets are completed and approved by supervisors prior to running payroll.• Maintain team member confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential.• Make adjustments to team members' checks as authorized by the team member or management (401k, garnishments, loans etc.).• Assist in the set-up and input new team member information into the third-party payroll system.• Serve as a liaison for the third-party payroll system by answering questions from team members and management, re-setting user passwords, and approving changes as required.• Assist in processing special payrolls as needed (i.e. bonuses) • Assist in working with Human Resources to process bulk uploads (i.e. bonuses, pay grades, merit increases) into the third-party payroll system. • Assist in paying long term and short-term disability payments to employees. • Submit payroll journal entries for storage in the accounting software system.• Create and run payroll related reports as needed.• Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
Years of Experience: • 1-3 years of experience in Payroll. . Degree: • Associate's Degree in Accounting or related field . Certification: • Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) is a plus. . Skills & Abilities: • Possess a strong sense of urgency • Excellent organization and time management skills • Ability to build and maintain relationships both internal and external to the firm• Operate efficiently with a high degree of accuracy • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook• Strong written and verbal communication • Act as a team player with a positive attitude • Proactive and analytical, able to problem-solve and propose solutions• Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks to completion• Prior experience working with Paylocity and/Intacct preferred.
