Job Description

Morgan's Payments organization provides cash management, liquidity, commercial card, FX, and escrow solutions globally. Our teams leverage the latest technology and data analytics to deliver innovative payment services, focusing on real-time payments and distributed ledger technology.
As a Control Manager Vice President within the Commercial & Investment Bank, you will lead the development of an enhanced control framework focused on risk identification, control design, and governance. In this role, you'll drive a continuous and integrated approach to risk assessment, ensuring real-time control issue detection and remediation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create a proactive risk and control culture, managing activities related to CORE, Risk Events, and Issues/Action Plans to mitigate operational risks and reduce financial loss and regulatory exposure.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Foster a proactive risk and control culture using proven evaluation strategies and change management protocols.
  • Review and analyze program-related data, such as KRIs and KPIs, to support business programs and strategies.
  • Provide leadership for the execution of the Risk & Control Self-Assessment, managing control breaks and resolutions.
  • Collaborate with control colleagues across the firm, including business, operations, legal, compliance, risk, audit, and technology functions.
  • Develop and implement Operational Risk Analytics to identify and measure risks, advising senior management on trends and proactive risk mitigation strategies.


Required Qualifications, Skills, and Capabilities:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required, with expertise in governance and oversight across business and risk disciplines.
  • Over 8 years of experience in the financial services industry, in controls, audit, quality assurance, risk management, or compliance.
  • Strong understanding of control and risk management concepts, with the ability to design and evaluate a Risk & Control Self-Assessment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio), with excellent written and verbal communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications, Skills, and Capabilities:

  • Knowledge of Payment products is a plus.
  • Experience in developing metrics and transforming risk and control reporting using intelligent tools and automation.
