About the role

In this role, you will collaborate with the in-house legal team to deliver favorable outcomes and reduce the legal risk of the organization through effective partnerships and the documentation of critical information. The corporate paralegal will report directly to our General Counsel and will serve as a member of our in-house legal team.

Essential Functions

  • Attend meetings and prepare synopsis memoranda.
  • Support board meetings, including drafting corporate documents such as minutes, consents, and maintaining corporate books and records.
  • Summarize and prepare reports for the General Counsel.
  • Keep track of changes in legal framework and provide updates on these changes from a legislative and industry perspective.
  • Organize and archive the documents related to completed and ongoing projects.
  • Support regulatory compliance efforts including public and state level filings.
  • Assist with contract management as well as maintaining organized contract files.
  • Provide litigation support as needed, including organizing and managing case files and coordinating with external counsel.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent understanding of legal procedures and terminology.
  • Possess excellent communications skills and be well versed in documentation.
  • Certification or associate degree in paralegal studies.
  • Experience in preparing memorandums and minutes.
  • Investigative mind and strong research and communication skills.
  • Considerable experience with quality control of documents and maintaining deadlines.
  • Self-starter.

Education and Experience 

  • Minimum of seven (7) years in a paralegal role.
  • Working knowledge of database software.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Industry recognized paralegal certificate preferred.
  • Deep familiarity with Microsoft 365 Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, and related tools) preferred.

Compensation and Benefits 

  • Competitive Salary: Base salary range $110,000 - $130,000 (commensurate with experience) + bonus + sign-on equity grant.
