Compensation & Benefits: $27 – $30 per hour depending on experience

Role Overview

This position is responsible for providing comprehensive legal, compliance, and administrative support across the Chief Administrative Officer's oversight areas, including corporate governance, contract management, and litigation tracking. The role ensures strict adherence to established policies, procedures, and business directives while accurately maintaining the company's centralized filing systems, minute books, and litigation records. The ideal candidate will leverage strong analytical and problem-solving skills to review complex legal agreements, address unprecedented regulatory questions, and collaborate effectively with in-house counsel and leadership with minimal supervision.


Essential Functions:

  • Support any areas in the Chief Administrative Officer’s oversight to include General Counsel, Contracts, Facilities, Human Resources, Third-Party Origination, Compliance, and others.
  • Utilize document and file management system(s) to accurately maintain company contracts and other documents/records in a centralized filing location for the convenience of in-house counsel.
  • Review and revise leases and contracts against established checklists, policies, procedures, and business directives.
  • Monitor litigation matters in which the company is involved and provide up-to-date status reports to in-house counsel and leadership.
  • Maintain records pertaining to litigation in the company's document and file management system(s) and assist in-house counsel in complying with all deadlines.
  • Assist the General Counsel with corporate governance and housekeeping matters.
  • Draft company resolutions to document actions/decisions taken by management and maintain the Minute Book in an up-to-date and accessible manner.
  • Organize company policies in both written and electronic forms.
  • Prepare borrower correspondence to address escalated customer advice matters.
  • Exercise flexibility and ingenuity in addressing legal and compliance questions without precedent.
  • Undertake other matters as directed by the legal and compliance teams.
Qualifications

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Legal & Operational Comprehension: Ability to read and understand legal terms, interpret their meaning, and overlay it effectively onto everyday work processes. Working knowledge of mortgage lending systems and the overall loan process.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite, the internet, and document/file management software.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving: Customer service, problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills. Ability to drill down through finite details and return reliable answers.
  • Communication & Judgment: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong decision-making abilities backed by the highest value system.
  • Autonomy & Adaptability: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Demonstrates flexibility and ingenuity when handling unprecedented questions.

Experience & Education

  • Required Experience: Prior paralegal experience specifically within the mortgage, banking, real estate, finance, or servicing industries.
  • Paralegal Certification OR a minimum of four (4) years of Paralegal experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Stationary Position: Prolonged periods sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Mobility: Occasional movement inside the office to access machinery or visit other workstations.
  • Lifting & Physical Demands: Occasional lifting up to 10 pounds. Must be able to push, pull, bend at the knees and waist, twist at the waist, raise and hold arms overhead, turn head/neck/shoulders, and grasp tools or office items with hands as needed throughout the workday.
