Why TrueAccord?

TrueAccord, a wholly owned subsidiary of TrueML, is a category-defining company. We combine machine learning with a human-based approach to transform debt resolution and to get people on the path towards financial health. Every year, more than 70 million Americans have negative experiences dealing with debt. We are changing this by providing personalized digital experiences that guide lenders and consumers through this challenging financial process.

With a world-class leadership team, passionate team members, and proprietary predictive models trained on years worth of transactional data, TrueAccord is well-positioned to deliver on a huge opportunity: helping millions of consumers to regain and keep their financial footing while lowering the cost of doing business for creditors across many industries.

About the Role

TrueAccord is on a mission to transform debt collection through technology, data science, and a consumer-first approach. We are seeking a Paralegal II to join our Legal & Compliance team and help power the operational engine that supports innovation and scale.
This role blends litigation and regulatory complaint management, compliance support, and contract review with process-building and cross-functional collaboration. You’ll be a trusted partner to attorneys and business stakeholders, working at the intersection of legal expertise and tech-driven operations. If you thrive in fast-changing environments and enjoy solving problems in real time, this is your chance to shape how legal and compliance functions grow alongside a high-growth digital-first debt collection agency.
If you’re a paralegal who wants more than a predictable checklist role—if you’re excited by the challenge of ambiguity, fast growth, and building better processes—this is your opportunity.

Why Join Us?

At TrueAccord, you’ll play a hands-on role in shaping how a high-growth financial services company manages litigation, compliance, and contracts. You’ll gain:
Visibility and influence. Work directly with attorneys, leadership, and cross-functional stakeholders.
Innovation opportunities. Help design systems that leverage technology for smarter legal and compliance operations.
Impact at scale. Contribute to the success of a company expanding rapidly in a complex, regulated industry.

Benefits & Perks

  • Everything you need to work remotely
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Medical/dental/vision insurance
  • 401k through Charles Schwab
  • Flexible Spending Account, Limited FSA, and Health Savings Account- with an eligible health care package.
  • Company-paid short-term and long-term disability plus basic life insurance.
  • Family-friendly maternity and paternity leave
  • Employee assistance program (EAP) via Claremont. Get free short-term counseling for mental health, free + discounted legal consultations, free financial consultations, access to work/life consultants, and more!

  • Paid time off to do volunteer work in your community.
  • Access to the Wellness Coach app for you and 5 family members

The responsibilities of this role include:

  • Manage a caseload of litigation and demand letters: conduct investigations, run root-cause analyses, and coordinate with outside counsel to execute defense strategies.
  • Investigate and respond to regulatory complaints, collaborating with teams across the company to ensure timely and accurate resolutions.
  • Support compliance functions, from policy and procedure management to issue tracking, testing, and monitoring.
  • Review and manage MNDAs, support due diligence for new clients, and assist attorneys with master services agreements.
  • Identify inefficiencies and proactively design smarter processes to keep the Legal & Compliance team lean, agile, and scalable.

What You'll Bring (The Must-Haves)

  • Tech fluency. You’re comfortable moving between multiple platforms—Google Suite, Slack, JIRA, Mac systems, and beyond—and can adapt quickly to new tools.
  • Adaptability. You thrive in ambiguity and don’t need every detail defined before you act. You’re resourceful, solutions-oriented, and energized by change.
  • Accountability. You own your work, juggle multiple priorities with precision, and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail. You combine sharp analytical skills with a focus on quality and accuracy.
  • Communication skills. You can confidently engage with internal leaders, cross-functional partners, and external counsel.
  • Relevant experience. 3+ years of in-house paralegal experience, preferably in fintech, debt collection, or another highly regulated financial services environment.

What Will Make You Stand Out (Nice-to-Haves)

  • A paralegal certificate
  • A current Notary Public Commission (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Energy and enthusiasm for building connections across the business and bringing fresh perspective to a detail-driven team
