The Paralegal I is the first level in DaVita’s paralegal career path and will be responsible for providing legal support for DaVita Integrated Kidney Care (IKC) and DaVita’s Value-Based Care (VBC) initiatives. DaVita IKC represents one of the most dynamic and rapidly growing areas of healthcare, offering the opportunity to work on innovative solutions that improve patient outcomes while shaping the future of care delivery. Key Responsibilities
- Provide paralegal support to attorneys, contract managers, and senior paralegals in healthcare contracting.
- Draft agreements from templates, including but not limited to provider agreements, amendments, travel & expense agreements, termination letters, legal notices, NDAs, and internal memos.
- Oversee the entire contract process, from drafting and negotiation to execution and storage, ensuring efficiency and compliance.
- Route contracts for approval and execution via DocuSign or Adobe Sign.
- Ensure final legal documents are properly stored in shared databases and legal archives.
- Conduct quality checks on legal documents to confirm accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
- Track and report on project status and deliverables.
- Collaborate with regulatory compliance teams, IKC business partners, and other internal stakeholders.
- Support special projects, process improvements, and department initiatives.
- Participate in team meetings, contribute to process enhancements, and bring curiosity and adaptability to new challenges.
Education & Experience:
- Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-accredited program preferred.
- Prior experience in healthcare, contracting, or as a paralegal is a plus.
- Familiarity with DocuSign, Adobe Sign, Salesforce, legal document management systems, and contract lifecycle management tools is a plus.

- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, OneNote, OneDrive, Teams).
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
- Demonstrates eagerness to learn, take initiative, and develop foundational paralegal skills.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to manage priorities and know when to ask questions.
- Team-oriented with a collaborative spirit and commitment to continuous improvement.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive and proactive mindset.
