This role exists to provide commercial legal and compliance support that keeps events and partnerships running on time and in line with business requirements. The Paralegal will streamline contract administration, coordinate compliance calendars, and perform jurisdictional research (e.g., visa/permit requirements) to minimize risk and accelerate operations. The objective is to ensure stakeholder confidence, timely execution, and accurate documentation across multiple business-facing legal processes.
The Impact you’ll make
Commercial Contracts Administration
- Draft and customize standard NDAs, vendor agreements, and event terms using approved templates.
- Track redlines, versions, and approvals; maintain a clean contracts repository in Google Drive.
- Flag risk items and escalate non-standard terms to licensed counsel or senior leadership.
Events Legal Operations Support
- Research country-specific visa/permit and event-related regulatory requirements using official resources.
- Compile required documentation, checklists, and timelines for each event; brief internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate with operations on deadlines and readiness; follow up to ensure timely completion.
Compliance Calendar and Filing Coordination
- Maintain calendars and reminders for compliance-related dates (e.g., tax registrations, filings, vendor documentation).
- Prepare information packets and liaise with relevant teams; track status to closure.
- Identify issues early and escalate promptly for licensed legal review where needed.
Legal Research and Documentation
- Conduct targeted legal/operational research on commercial topics (contracts, compliance touchpoints) — not legal advice.
- Summarize findings clearly in Google Docs with sources and practical implications for the business.
- Standardize templates, playbooks, and SOPs to improve speed and consistency.
Stakeholder Communication and Tools
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, events, partnerships, and finance.
- Use Google Workspace, shared drives, and document collaboration best practices to maintain a single source of truth.
- Manage reminders, trackers, and status dashboards to keep stakeholders aligned.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Required:
- Proven experience in commercial legal environment (e.g., corporate/legal operations, commercial law firm, or in-house legal supporting business functions).
- Hands-on experience drafting/reviewing commercial agreements (NDAs, vendor/supplier agreements, T&Cs) using templates.
- Demonstrated exposure to corporate/legal operations and compliance workflows (calendaring, filings coordination).
- Strong legal research and documentation skills; proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Calendar).
