Silverback Strategies is a performance marketing agency built to help marketers grow and capitalize on change. Ad Age, Inc Magazine, The Washington Post, The Washingtonian, and The Washington Business Journal have recognized Silverback as one of the best places to work.

We hire the best and help them get better. Silverbackers are supported, challenged and inspired by their peers. Regardless of title or tenure, every Silverbacker plays a role in helping our agency get better. This is a place where you can make a difference.

Our new Paid Media and Analytics Specialist will serve as a subject matter expert in all things related to Performance Marketing, with a focus on Paid Media executional work. You’ll use your paid media tactical expertise on a daily basis to build, launch, optimize, test, and measure goal-shattering campaigns across Paid Search and Paid Social platforms. (Google and Meta are our agency’s two main platforms, but you’ll also work across LinkedIn, TikTok, Pinterest, Reddit, and more depending on the client’s specific goals.)

You’ll also play a significant role in ad tracking set-up and maintenance — this role is ideal for someone who loves to dive into data, and finds measurement/analytics work engaging & rewarding. Beyond the day-to-day of ad platform operations & measurement/analytics execution, you’ll also play a pivotal role in brainstorming paid media strategies with client-facing counterparts. (In other words, you’ll be both a “doer” and a strategist!)

As a Paid Media and Analytics Specialist at Silverback, you’ll flex your chops as a reporting whiz to build & optimize both automated and customized performance reports on a regular cadence. You’ll also play a leading role in budget pacing across all platforms, and will collaborate seamlessly with counterparts across client/account teams, the creative department, and even SEO/Organic Search experts to execute best-in-class paid media campaigns for our clients.

Here’s what we expect from our Paid Media and Analytics Specialist:

—What You’ll Do—

  • Build, launch, and maintain winning campaigns across Paid Search and Paid Social platforms (primarily Google Ads and Meta) that meet or exceed clients’ goals & KPIs.
  • Continuously pioneer tests & make optimizations in-platform to drive the best possible performance for your assigned clients.
  • Work daily within Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 to set up and deploy Paid Media & GA tracking pixels.
  • Troubleshoot and solve conversion tracking gaps on an ongoing basis.
  • Identify key opportunities for additional measurement needs (e.g. new conversion actions, conversion tracking/optimization, UTM tracking).
  • Build & deliver regular automated & customized reports (using Funnel.io and other tools) to ensure clients stay up-to-date on measurement & account performance. Continuously demonstrate the impact of paid media performance on clients’ revenue & business goals.
  • Collaborate with direct teammates and client-facing counterparts to design, strategize, and execute ongoing incrementality tests.
  • Play the lead role in account structure and audience targeting within various ad platforms.
  • Leverage in-platform tools, including AI-enhanced features, to eliminate waste and maximize the efficiency of your campaigns.
  • Stay on top of all paid media budget pacing and ad spend on a daily & weekly basis.
  • Work closely with Paid Media Account Manager counterparts to brainstorm and bring to life paid media strategies for clients, including making strategic pivots as needed.

—What You’ll Need to Succeed—

  • Agency Background: You’ve previously “done the work” at another performance marketing agency, and know what it takes to deliver results.
  • Years of Experience: We’re seeking candidates with at LEAST 2 years of agency experience; 3-5 years (minimum) of overall relevant paid media & analytics experience is required. You will not be considered for this position if you do not meet these requirements!
  • Ad Platforms: You’re a stone-cold pro at all things tactical within Paid Search/Google Ads and Meta. You keep up with all the latest-and-greatest features & updates within all major ad platforms, and you could build & launch a mistake-free campaign in your sleep.
  • Analytics & Measurement Tools: You use Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager on a regular basis, and aren’t thrown by the technical demands or complexities of measurement / analytics tools.
  • Google Sheets / Excel: You’re a whiz at Google Sheets and/or Excel, able to synthesize, pivot, analyze, and consolidate significantly large sets of data without breaking a sweat.
  • Business Acumen: Being highly skilled within paid media & analytics tactical operations is one thing…but your ability to tie the work you do “behind the scenes” to a measurable impact on clients’ business, bottom line, etc is what will make you a superstar.
  • Collaborative Spirit: You enjoy working with a wide variety of internal teammates to get the job done — you’re a clear written & verbal communicator, and teammates can always count on you for high-quality, error-free work with minimal direction or oversight.
  • “Get Sh*t Done” Mentality: You’re energized by — and thrive within — an environment where no two days are the same, and results are king. You genuinely get satisfaction from rolling up your sleeves and getting things done.
  • Adaptability & Growth: Feedback fuels you. You lean into change, sharpen your skills, and push yourself and your team to get better every day.
  • Project & Time Management: You run a clean calendar and keep priorities straight. Competing demands don’t throw you.
  • “Nice to Haves”: While it’s not a must-have for this role, prior experience working with Funnel.io, Looker Studio, and/or Hubspot is a plus! We’d also be impressed with candidates who have previous hands-on experience with incrementality or incremental measurement.

—Why Silverback?—

  • Silverback isn’t for everybody. If you’re an A player, you will get paid more, learn more and grow faster with support from a smart and fun team. If you’re a B player, you will be miserable.
  • Work with the A team: We are ruthless about putting the best possible team on the field.
  • Make an impact: We’re a small agency. Everybody has the opportunity to drive change and impact.
  • Get paid: We hire the best and pay them generously.
  • Do cool sh*t: From media to SEO to measurement, learn the cutting edge of what works.
