BGS is seeking a P-8 Wire Design and Wire Install Design Engineer (Associate or Mid-Level) in Jacksonville, Florida to support the P-8 Modification Program.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Work with cross-functional teams (Manufacturing, Quality, Planning, and other Engineering groups) to assess and implement wire design/wire installation changes
  • Create Production Action Requests (PARs) in EWITS as required
  • Ensure that PARs provide all pertinent information for the customer and follow-on commodities
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in wiring diagrams and between wiring diagrams and functional schematics to ensure design accuracy and functional alignment of the system
  • Diagnose and resolve test failures related to wire routing, signal integrity, or electrical connectivity (e.g., how improper bend radius or incorrect coax routing can cause signal failures)
  • Perform on-aircraft investigations to support troubleshooting of wiring discrepancies, including connector pinouts, harness damage, continuity faults, and configuration mismatches
  • Coordinate with design engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to validate and implement corrective actions for discovered wiring issues

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 2+ years' experience with wire design drawings including system interconnects, wire routing and equipment installation drawings

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • 5+ years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Active U.S. Security Clearance
  • Experience working with mechanics/shop floor for troubleshooting
  • Experience with P-8 or 737
  • Proven knowledge of various data bus types, bend radius requirements, and fiber
  • Experience in design from initial requirements through final install

Summary pay range Associate (Level 2): $91,800 - $124,200
Summary pay range Mid-Level (Level 3): $112,200 - $151,800
