As an Optical Product Test Engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and performance of optical sub-assemblies and integrated optical products. You will collaborate closely with R&D, photonics, firmware, and manufacturing teams to align on test strategies and drive the implementation of effective test methodologies. This role offers an opportunity to influence product development and contribute to the success of our optical communication solutions. Responsibilities
  • Define and develop comprehensive test strategies for optical sub-assemblies and related hardware.
  • Lead cross-functional efforts to determine test requirements, coverage, and execution plans.
  • Translate product specifications into practical and efficient test methodologies.
  • Drive the development and deployment of test setups, procedures, and infrastructure.
  • Execute functional and performance testing on optical and optoelectronic hardware, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
  • Coordinate with design teams to enhance testability and streamline the validation process.
  • Analyze test results to identify areas for improvement, risks, and potential design enhancements.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) by ensuring test readiness and alignment across all teams.
  • Document test solutions, processes, and results to maintain consistency and scalability.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in optical communication systems and testing techniques.
Qualifications
  • PhD or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Optics, or a related technical field.
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience in hardware test or product validation.
  • Hands-on experience with optical sub-assemblies or optical module testing is essential.
  • Strong understanding of optical communication systems and optoelectronic products.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and facilitate technical discussions.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a track record of identifying and resolving complex issues.
  • Experience in developing test solutions for optical or photonic hardware is preferred.
  • Familiarity with automated test environments and test framework development is an advantage.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to working with diverse teams and stakeholders.
