Summary:
Goldschmitt and Associates is seeking an Operations Manager for a remote position in support of a federal agency.
This role ensures high availability, system stability, cybersecurity compliance, and operational efficiency across infrastructure, applications, data services, and integrations.
The Operations Manager serves as the primary liaison between operations teams, development teams, cybersecurity, infrastructure providers, and business stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery of services.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee IT operations and service delivery, including
- Ensure system uptime, performance, and reliability meet established SLAs/OLAs
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for critical incidents and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Manage release coordination, change control processes, and production deployments
- Ensure capacity planning, performance tuning, and scalability planning
- Oversee cloud environments
- Oversee DevOps team
- Manage SOA Operations
- Coordinate infrastructure upgrades, patching cycles, and environment refresh activities.
- Support automation initiatives using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and DevSecOps pipelines
- Ensure compliance with FISMA, NIST SP 800-53 controls, and federal cybersecurity mandates
- Support Authority to Operate (ATO) activities, continuous monitoring, and POA&M tracking
- Implement vulnerability management and remediation processes
- Possess at least 8 years of experience in IT operations, including federal IT operations
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Possess a ITIL v4 certification
- Possess the ability to pass the Public Trust investigation and maintain eligibility, including US citizenship
- Possess a Certified ScrumMaster Certification (CMC)
- Possess prior experience supporting the US Department of Education Federal Student Aid (FSA)
