You’re RGA ready

RGA is a purpose-driven organization working to solve today’s challenges through innovation and collaboration. A Fortune 200 Company and listed among its World’s Most Admired Companies, we’re the only global reinsurance company to focus primarily on life- and health-related solutions. Join our multinational team of intelligent, motivated, and collaborative people, and help us make financial protection accessible to all.

A Brief Overview
The Operations Finance Analyst serves as the critical financial engine embedded within the IT organization. Unlike traditional corporate FP&A roles, this position is focused on the day-to-day tactical execution of technology budgets, granular bottoms-up forecasting, and operational compliance. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between technical teams and accounting, tracking labor capitalization via rigorous timekeeping and analyzing project-level variances to ensure a seamless, audit-ready month-end close.
What you will do

  • Bottoms-Up Financial Modeling: Partner directly with IT managers and engineers to build hyper-granular, line-item budgets and monthly forecasts based on actual technical roadmaps and vendor timelines.
  • Variance & Root-Cause Analysis: Monitor real-time spending fluctuations, identify micro-level variances against the forecast, and collaborate with technical owners to understand the structural "why" behind spend deviations.
  • Timekeeping & Capitalization Compliance: Own the end-to-end audit process for IT labor timekeeping. Ensure engineering hours are accurately tracked, coded, and compliant with accounting standards (e.g., CapEx vs. OpEx allocation for software development).
  • Month-End Close Acceleration: Reconcile open purchase orders, accrue technical vendor services, and validate operational data points to provide corporate accounting with clean, verified financials for a smooth close cycle.
  • Operational Showback/Chargeback: Maintain and optimize internal billing models to distribute IT infrastructure and service costs accurately to the business units consuming them

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Finance, Accounting, Management Information Systems (MIS), OR 2–5 years of experience in a role requiring data reconciliation, operational budgeting, or cost accounting (IT environment preferred) required
  • Experience with time-tracking software (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow, Clarity), ERP tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle), or dedicated IT Financial Management (ITFM/TBM) software is a major plus
  • Advanced Excel Capability: Expertise in handling complex datasets, lookup functions, pivot tables, and data modeling to map unstructured operational logs to financial sheets. required
  • The "Translator" Mindset: Ability to sit with an infrastructure engineer, understand a technical issue, and naturally translate how that delay impacts the accounting ledger. required
