OVERVIEW Asian Connections Hub (ACH) is a non-profit organization designing an online directory community space where diverse groups can coexist, connect, discover each other. Our mission and goal is to build community and bring people together by fostering collaboration, networking, and knowledge sharing. We aim to create a safe space for a broader diaspora, including mainland, immigrant, adoptee, indigenous individuals.
OVERVIEW We are seeking a dedicated and organized Volunteer Onboarding Manager to join Asian Connections Hub. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring a smooth and welcoming onboarding experience for new volunteers, helping them integrate into our team and contribute effectively to our mission.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and implement an onboarding process and training program for new volunteers, including orientation materials, training sessions, and resource guides.
Coordinate the recruitment and selection of volunteers, working closely with the human resources coordinator and other team members to identify needs and match volunteers with suitable roles.
Conduct onboarding sessions and training workshops for new volunteers, providing them with essential information about our organization, mission, and programs.
Serve as the main point of contact for new volunteers, answering questions, addressing concerns, and providing guidance as needed throughout the onboarding process.
Collaborate with team leaders and project managers to onboard volunteers onto specific projects and initiatives, ensuring they have the necessary tools, resources, and support to succeed.
Monitor the progress and performance of new volunteers during the onboarding period, providing feedback and support to help them acclimate to their roles and responsibilities.
Continuously evaluate and improve the onboarding process based on feedback from volunteers and stakeholders, identifying areas for enhancement and implementing solutions as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience in volunteer management, human resources, or related field preferred.
Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks and stakeholders effectively.
Empathy and interpersonal skills to engage with volunteers from diverse backgrounds and make them feel valued and supported.
Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing challenges and improving processes.
Passion for mental health advocacy and a commitment to promoting well-being within diverse communities.
EXPECTATIONS
This is a volunteer role; we’re asking for 3-5 hours/week max to contribute no volunteer should be exceeding these hours without communication to their manager
Must attend meetings for HR meetings and 1:1s
Communication is key and participation is required to commit to the project
