Company Overview

Red 6 is an innovative Augmented Reality (AR) technology startup leading the way in synthetic air combat training. Our primary technology, supporting our ATARS product, enables pilots to simulate the cognitive challenges of flying while accessing realistic, scalable training in dynamic outdoor environments.

Position Overview

Red 6 is seeking a hands-on Odoo Implementation & Inventory Data Migration Specialist to support the deployment of Odoo as the core ERP and production platform for manufacturing operations.

This role is responsible for standing up, configuring, and structuring Odoo’s out-of-the-box capabilities and architecting a configuration to align with Red 6’s production, supply chain, and engineering workflows. The system will serve as the central hub for parts, BOMs, drawings, build/work instructions, inventory, purchasing, and production traceability, with integrations to PLM and financial systems.

The ideal candidate has strong experience with ERP systems in manufacturing environments, is comfortable structuring and migrating complex data sets, and can translate real-world production workflows into scalable system configurations. This role is focused on practical implementation and execution, not custom software development.

Key Responsibilities

Odoo System Setup & Configuration

  • Configure and deploy Odoo modules to support:

  • Inventory Management

  • Manufacturing (MRP)

  • Purchasing

  • Quality

  • PLM integration

  • Time tracking and cost accounting

  • Establish out-of-the-box system architecture and architecting a configuration aligned to Red 6’s production and supply chain workflows.

  • Define and implement data structures for parts, assemblies, BOMs (EBOM/MBOM), and inventory records.

  • Configure workflows to support production execution, purchasing, and traceability requirements.

Data Architecture & Migration

  • Lead migration of existing inventory, BOMs, and part master data into Odoo.

  • Ensure accurate mapping of:

  • Part numbers

  • Revisions

  • Quantities and locations

  • Attributes and metadata

  • Establish clear linkage between:

  • Engineering BOMs (from PLM)

  • Manufacturing BOMs (in Odoo)

  • Physical inventory and serialized components

  • Validate data integrity, completeness, and traceability across systems.

Manufacturing & Supply Chain Workflow Enablement

  • Configure Odoo to support:

  • Work Orders and build execution

  • Purchase requests and purchase orders based on demand and lead times

  • Receiving, inventory transactions, and stock movements

  • Production traceability and serialization

  • Align system workflows with Red 6’s Manufacturing Readiness and production processes.

  • Ensure system supports complex assemblies (PCBAs, harnesses, mechanical systems).

Process Automation & Traceability

  • Implement workflows for:

  • Product serialization and full traceability (component → assembly)

  • Non-Conformance Reporting (NCR) and corrective action tracking

  • Inspection and quality checkpoints within production flows

  • Enable time tracking and labor reporting for production builds.

  • Ensure system supports DOD/aerospace-level traceability and documentation requirements.

Integration Support

  • Support integration between Odoo and:

  • PLM system (e.g., Windchill) for EBOMs, drawings, and engineering data

  • Finance systems for purchasing and cost tracking

  • Ensure clean data flow and synchronization between systems.

Documentation & Training

  • Develop clear documentation for:

  • System configuration

  • Data structures

  • Standard workflows

  • Train internal teams on:

  • Data entry and maintenance

  • Inventory transactions

  • Production and purchasing workflows

  • Provide recommendations for ongoing system governance, maintenance, and scalability.

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience implementing or configuring ERP systems in manufacturing environments.

  • Experience with Odoo ERP (preferred) or similar systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, etc.).

  • Strong understanding of:

  • MRP and manufacturing workflows

  • BOM structures (EBOM/MBOM)

  • Inventory management and traceability

  • Proven experience with data migration and system setup, including part master and BOM data.

  • Experience working with engineering and production teams in hardware environments.

  • Strong data organization, problem-solving, and system thinking skills.

  • Ability to work independently in a 1099 contractor capacity with minimal supervision.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to translate business needs into system configuration.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience integrating ERP systems with PLM tools (e.g., Windchill).

  • Experience supporting aerospace or DOD manufacturing environments.

  • Familiarity with AS9100 and traceability requirements.

  • Experience with complex electromechanical systems (PCBAs, cables, assemblies).

  • Background in production operations, manufacturing engineering, or supply chain systems.

Core Competencies

  • Strong systems thinking and data architecture mindset

  • Hands-on, execution-focused implementation approach

  • Ability to translate real-world workflows into ERP configurations

  • High attention to detail and data accuracy

  • Cross-functional collaboration (Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality)

  • Ability to work independently and drive results in a fast-paced environment

Contract Details

  • Type: 1099 Independent Contractor (part-time, ~20–40 hours/week)

  • Duration: Project-based (estimated 3–6 months, with potential extension)
