We’re looking for an NLP Engineer II to join our NLP team. They will be responsible for developing advanced AI solutions to some of healthcare's major pain points. We are looking for someone passionate for developing high quality solutions in a collaborative manner. Working with other members of the NLP team and partners such as clinicians, product managers, and software engineers. They will be expected to develop key NLP components.

Location: Remote, US

Role qualifications:

  • 2 years or more of experience in NLP, machine learning, or data science roles.  
  • Strong Python fundamentals and Git-based development workflow. 
  • Understanding of classical NLP methods and hands-on experience with Hugging Face Transformers and spaCy.   
  • Working knowledge of PyTorch; able to adapt open-source models for domain-specific tasks. 
  • Exposure to Spark or Databricks for large-scale data processing 
  • Exposure to cloud-based ML workflow tools such as Azure ML or MLflow; experience writing tests and participating in code reviews. 
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally. 

Nice to have:

  • Experience with LLMs or RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) systems.  
  • Clinical experience or experience working in healthcare 
  • Coursework or professional work involving medical terminology, ICD-10 coding, or health informatics.  

What you will be doing:

  • Collaborate with product managers, clinicians, and engineers to define NLP product features and translate requirements into technical specifications.  
  • Build and improve our core NLP functionality, this includes training and deploying machine learning models.  
  • Monitor performance and accuracy of deployed models; iterate based on user feedback and data drift.  
  • Contribute to the development of scalable ML pipelines and APIs for model deployment and integration with SaaS products.  
  • Stay current with NLP and LLM research and translate findings into applied solutions where appropriate.
