THE HIGH LEVEL

Support or perform technology refreshes to include the periodic replacement of IT assets, equipment, and infrastructure to ensure reliability, improve speed and capacity, and maximize system performance. A regular cycle of hardware updates and replacements is necessary in order to maintain a robust and reliable architecture.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Work will be performed on several technologies previously implemented including VXLAN, F5 load balancers, ASA firewalls and Cat 9000 data center switches.  Efforts are in the planning stages to integrate and optimize these technologies into a cohesive system to efficiently support the existing and future infrastructure needs of the ESS Program. Once designs are solidified, the implementation will cover the 3 main environments of TI.MIL, TI.COM and the ESS testing segment referred to as TI.SB (Sandbox).

Detailed Tasks

The Iron Bow resource will be lead or support the activities identified below.  This is not an all-inclusive list. Additional tasks not listed here will be related to general network engineering design, implementation, and maintenance. An expanded Statement of Work may be necessary in the future.

  • Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, Cisco switches, ASA firewalls, F5 load balancers, VPN, QoS)
  • Cisco 9k setup, configuration and management using SPINE, LEAF, VXLAN topology
  • Cisco firepower ASA setup, configuration and management, NAT, PAT, IPSEC, ACLs
  • F5 Network setup, configuration and management LTM, APM, IPSEC
  • Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations
  • Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability
  • Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning
  • Provide Tier 2 and 3 support, troubleshooting to resolve issues
  • Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
  • Cisco 9k setup, configuration and management, SPINE, LEAF, VXLAN
  • Cisco firepower ASA setup, configuration and management, NAT, PAT, IPSEC, ACLs
  • F5 Networks setup, configuration and management, LTM, APM, IPSEC
  • Support efforts to automate system monitoring and maintenance
  • Produce network diagrams, artifacts, and documentation in support of program as required
  • Coordinate with Cyber Security team to select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures that establish and maintain cyber security compliance with applicable directives

Deliverables and Documentation

The following deliverables will be provided by Iron Bow in support of this service agreement:

  • Appropriately skilled services personnel as identified above
  • Services as identified above in the Objectives, Staff Requirements, and Tasks sections of this SoW.
  • Monthly status report on the third business day of each month, or more frequently if requested.
  • Monthly performance report, cost report, and invoices. The data will include, at a minimum; the total authorized budget, invoiced to date, current invoice, labor hours and cost totals, cumulative labor hours and cost totals, and remaining budget and remaining hours, as applicable.  If the cost information indicates that additional labor hours will be required to complete the work, this shall be clearly stated in the report with justification for the need. The Contractor may provide additional specific reporting requirements, as deemed necessary.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

Network Specialist Master - Data Center

Responsible for supporting the planning, design, implementation, transition and management of the complex modern Testing Infrastructure (TI) data center infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Experience with Cisco Nexus 9000 Series switches, Cisco Firepower, and F5 products
  • In-depth knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 connectivity, fabric infrastructure, storage networking, planning network services, automation, and orchestration.
  • Ability to design and troubleshoot the Data Center Layer 2 overlays such as VXLAN and EVPN. Ability to prepare and maintain project planning documentation, create and maintain network maps/diagrams and presentation materials and input all relevant information into network monitoring tools

 WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Expected work hours will typically be 8:30am – 4:30pm EST Monday-Friday.
    • Work outside of those hours will be coordinated in advance among the technical representative, the ESS Program Manager, the Iron Bow resource, and the Iron Bow Resource Manager.
    • There may be unexpected events that cannot be planned in advance (e.g., outages, troubleshooting). In such cases, the technical representative will coordinate with the Iron Bow resource and also the Iron Bow Resource Manager if needed.
    • Ensure support Monday thru Friday, with exception of Federal holidays or when the METIC or DDC facility is closed due to local or national emergencies, administrative closings, or Government- directed facility closings.
    • In the event the Iron Bow Resource is directed to work during a Federal holiday the Customer is responsible for reimbursing the Resource. No form of holiday, vacation or other premium compensation will be reimbursed either as direct or indirect cost, other than normal compensation for the time worked.
    • Resource will not be required to work more than 40 hours in a week.
  • Situations that require more than 40 hours in a week or working nonstandard business hours will require 5 days advance coordination with the Resource and Iron Bow Resource Manager.
  • Resource shall coordinate PTO with the Customer technical representative and their Iron Bow Resource Manager
  • The Resource’s work will transition to 90% remote after initial ramp-up time onsite and contribution to the success of the DDC 2.0 project

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

0% other than local travel in the County. In the event travel comes up (Travel is not included in the SoW) but can be billed as actuals if resource is required to travel.
