POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of Vero’s network across multiple states. Candidates should have a proven track record of managing network operations for metro and long-haul fiber networks as well as ILA site management and operations.  This position will have responsibility for all aspects of network operations, including NOC management, outage response and scheduled maintenance activity.  Reports to SVP of Operations. 
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Key responsibilities include:

  • Direct management of Vero’s outsourced NOC, with a focus on end-user customer satisfaction and continuous process improvement.
  • Management of all emergency maintenance activities to ensure timely and effective response to trouble tickets. Includes interfacing directly with Vero NOC, local repair/maintenance contractors and customer operations contacts (NOC, local operations teams, etc.), as well as preparing MOPs (if required) and RFOs.  Includes tracking, management, retention, and reporting of all related ticketing and resolution metrics.
  • Management of internal and external communication and escalation processes.  Conduct monthly and quarterly operational reviews with certain key customers.
  • Oversee all scheduled maintenance activity, including preparation of MOPs (with input from customers, fiber engineering, and OSP resources), scheduling maintenance windows with customers and timely completion of maintenance work.
  • Track network operations key performance indicators (KPIs) and generate periodic network performance reports, along with recommendations for improvement.
  • Ownership and continuous optimization of all network operations processes, systems, contracts/negotiations, and documentation including circuit databases, 811 agency mapping and monitoring of Vero network, locate vendors and maintenance vendors.  
  • Ensure that all network is protected adequately and timely.
  • Ensure adequate materials sparing for all network elements on all portions of active network including monthly inventory reporting.  
  • Manage on-call schedule for Vero Operations team.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • 6+ years’ experience in fiber network operations, with at least 3 years of supervisory experience
  • Thorough understanding of industry standard fiber network troubleshooting, lit services, repair and maintenance procedures
  • Understanding of fiber network documentation standards and principles
  • Experience preparing MOPs for scheduled maintenance activities
  • Experience communicating with high-profile customers during emergency maintenance events, including preparation and communication of post-event RFOs
  • BS degree preferred

  • Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Strong process and documentation orientation, with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong background in Google Suite (Sheets, etc.), Google Maps, Google Earth 

JOB DETAILS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • This role requires limited travel (<10%).
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • This is an exempt position.
  • This is a full-time position.
  • This is a management position.
  • The work location of this position is generally flexible but candidate should be local to the Denver area.
  • The schedule for this position will require after hours support up to 2 or more nights per week.
  • This position requires the ability to sit and work at a desk for extended periods of time, using a computer and other office equipment.
  • This position requires the ability to perform fine motor tasks, such as typing or using a mouse, for extended periods of time.
  • This position requires the ability to pass a standard background check upon offer of position.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Base pay is paid at an annual salary rate. The salary range for this position is $115,000 to $130,000 depending on experience.
  • This role is eligible for a 20% bonus based on the Company's bonus policy.
