TITLE: IT Network Engineer (Remote) 


JOB MISSION: Reporting to the Director, IT Operations, the IT Network Engineer has responsibility for designing and supporting the day-to-day Network operations of the Cole Haan environment with connectivity across our North American corporate offices, international offices, cloud vendors, and retail stores. This individual will work with IT application teams, vendor teams, and internal support teams to support both project and operational efforts to enhance, stabilize, and maintain our network computing environment with a focus on efficiency, stability, functionality, and security.

 

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Hardware Setup: Configure and install network devices such as routers, switches, and wireless access points
  • Vendor Management: Work with vendors to drive issues resolution
  • Software Updates: Ensure network software is up-to-date with the latest patches and updates to maintain security and performance
  • Network Optimization: Continuously optimize network configurations to improve speed and reduce latency
  • Security Policies: Develop and enforce network security policies to protect against unauthorized access and cyber threats
  • Incident Response: Respond to incidents, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions
  • Compliance: Ensure network security measures comply with industry standards and regulations
  • Monitoring Tools: Utilize network monitoring tools to track performance metrics and identify potential issues
  • Capacity Planning: Plan for future network capacity needs based on usage trends and business growth
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve network performance issues, minimizing downtime and disruption
  • Network Diagrams: Create and maintain detailed network diagrams to document the network layout and configurations
  • Change Management: Document changes to the network infrastructure, including configurations and upgrades
  • Procedures: Develop standard operating procedures for network management and troubleshooting
  • Help Desk Support: Provide second and third-level support for network-related issues escalated from the Service Desk/NOC
  • On-Call Support: Be available for on-call support to address urgent network issues outside of regular business hours
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve network issues
  • Teamwork: Ability to work well in a team environment and support other IT professionals
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate with team members
  • Project Management: Skills in managing projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring to ensure timely and successful completion
  • H/A Solutions: Implement and manage network availability solutions to ensure data integrity and availability
  • Recovery Testing: Regularly test recovery plans to ensure they are effective and up to date
  • Network Architecture: Design network architecture to meet the organization’s needs, including scalability, performance, and security

 

Technical Skills:

  • Networking Protocols: Proficiency in protocols such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and MPLS
  • Network Hardware: Experience configuring routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points
  • Network Security: Knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and other security measures
  • Troubleshooting Tools: Familiarity with network diagnostic and monitoring tools like Wireshark, and PRTG
  • Network Security: Strong knowledge of security practices, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and encryption
  • Scripting and Automation: Familiarity with scripting languages to automate network tasks and improve efficiency
Preferred Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering
  • Self- starter able to work independently under tight deadlines
  • 3+ years of relevant cloud connectivity experience (Azure/AWS/OCI)
  • 7+ years of experience in network engineering field, with specific experience in managing complex network environments
    • LAN/WAN networking technologies (Wired & Wireless)
    • Firewall configuration and maintenance
    • VPN configuration and maintenance
    • Fortinet Routers/Switches/Firewalls
  • Experience supporting Distribution Centers and RF Gun connectivity
  • Wireless LAN Troubleshooting and remediation
  • Experience with Fortinet Network Systems
  • Experience with Meraki SD-WAN
  • Experience with remote office connectivity and VPN support
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills to effectively communicate with both business and technical IT teams
  • Must be proactive, demonstrate initiative and be a logical thinker
  • Ability to work with onshore/offshore teams and communicate using virtual communication tools (phone, conferencing, online meeting)
  • Cisco Certifications: CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate), CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional), and CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert) are highly valued
  • Other Certifications: Certifications from other vendors like Fortinet, Microsoft (MCSA, MCSE), and Azure can also be advantageous
  • Must be able to work ET hours
  • Must be able to interview in person at our Greenland, NH Global Headquarters
  • Base Salary/Hourly Range: From $120,000 to $140,000 annually* + bonus
  • Bonus Eligibility: Yes, eligible for annual target bonus based on company and individual performance.
