CSCI Consulting is looking for a Network Administrator - Journeyman to support the daily operations and sustainment of a secure enterprise network infrastructure. This role is responsible for ensuring system availability, applying patches and upgrades, managing interfaces, and assisting with capacity and performance tuning. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience supporting complex networks within federal or DoD environments, with a proactive mindset and strong troubleshooting abilities.
ResponsibilitiesAdminister and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and load balancers.
Monitor network performance, identify and resolve latency or connectivity issues, and ensure high system availability.
Perform installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades on network and system components, including Exadata and Oracle VM environments.
Support interface management activities, ensuring connectivity and compliance with internal and external systems.
Maintain and update documentation for network configurations, changes, events, and incidents in accordance with operational standards.
Implement and support disaster recovery, backup, and restore procedures.
Collaborate closely with help desk, cybersecurity, and audit teams to ensure secure, compliant, and resilient network operations.
Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as required.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
4–6 years of experience in network administration or systems support roles.
Experience in managing and maintaining enterprise network and server environments.
Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
Familiarity with network monitoring tools and performance tuning techniques.
Understanding of backup, restore, and disaster recovery operations.
Ability to document events, changes, and procedures clearly and consistently.
Active DoD Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working in secure federal or DoD IT environments.
Familiarity with virtualization platforms such as Oracle VM and VMware.
Experience with IAVA compliance, STIGs, and DoD cybersecurity standards.
Knowledge of Exadata systems, InfiniBand networking, and Oracle-based infrastructure components.
Exposure to interface coordination and management between internal and external systems.
Experience supporting operations in a 24/7/365 environment and working collaboratively with cross-functional technical teams.
