The National Traveling Associate Sales Representative will support the Neurosurgical business, covering for sales staff, educating healthcare professionals, and promoting Stryker products while traveling extensively.
Work Flexibility: Field-based
This ASR will be supporting the Neurosurgical business unit where needed throughout the United States. It is preferred that this person would live near an airport as the position requires 95% overnight travel.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide coverage for Leaves of Absences, typically 4 weeks or longer (can be up to or exceed 3 consecutive months), for Sales Representatives in the region
- Works directly with Sales Representatives within a region to help aid with the planning, directing and coordination of selling, marketing and portion of Stryker products, when not covering for Stryker employees on leaves of absence or supporting other business coverage needs
- Educate and informs doctors, nurses, and appropriate staff personnel as to the proper use and maintenance of Stryker products, product functionality and updates, changes to product portfolio, and educational programs
- Promotes Stryker products to doctors, nurses, and appropriate staff personnel while providing excellent customer service and developing the customer relationship
- Following extensive product training, the employee must be able to tailor Stryker’s promotional message based upon knowledge of the customer, advise on appropriate product selection, answer customer questions about product functionality and distinguish Stryker products from those of Stryker’s competitors
- May direct product evaluations in OR and office settings
- May assist in the preparation and operation of trade shows, conventions, and/or clinical meetings
- Keeps sales representative informed of territory progress on a regular basis
- Solves product problems for customers in an expeditious fashion
- May assist in the training and development of sales personnel
- Must understand and adhere to all OR and pertinent OSHA guidelines when conducting a product evaluation
- Must exhibit a base understanding of computers for best utilization of Stryker SIS program
- Must adhere rigidly to all GMP policies and procedures as stipulated by the FDA
Education & Special Trainings:
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Qualifications & Experience:
- 2+ years of proven work experience, medical-related fields preferred
- Prior sales or marketing experience preferred
- Must be able to readily solve customer complaints and questions
- Must have command of all products sold or marketed by the business unit, including functionality, features, and factors that differentiate Stryker products from its competitors’ products, and be able to disseminate this knowledge to the customer
- Must be able to analyze territory market potential prioritize call patterns accordingly
Percent of Travel:
- 95% overnight; must be able to drive automobile

$70,000 - $77,000 salary and may be eligible to earn a bonus + benefits. You will also be eligible for a weekly rate when you are deployed to cover a Leave of Absence.
