Job Title: National Sales Manager
Reports To: Sales Leader
Location: Atlas – Texas (Remote; must be able to frequently travel)
Position Summary
The National Sales Manager (NSM) is responsible for driving sales growth and market share of Atlas products by leading a national sales strategy focused on regional roll formers and OEM customers. This role combines direct territory management of the Texas region with leadership responsibilities for Territory Sales Managers across the U.S.
The NSM will manage, develop, and protect customer relationships while coaching and mentoring a high-performing sales team. Success in this position requires strong leadership, consultative selling skills, and deep knowledge of the building materials and metal construction industry.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead efforts to grow existing business and develop strategies to capture new markets and customers.
- Manage and strengthen key accounts while identifying and onboarding new regional roll former relationships.
- Directly oversee the Texas territory: visit, develop, and protect existing accounts while expanding into new accounts.
- Manage and support Territory Sales Managers across multiple U.S. territories, ensuring consistent execution of national strategies.
- Develop and implement sales strategies aligned with Atlas’s OEM sales objectives.
- Conduct market analysis to anticipate customer needs, competitive pressures, and industry trends.
- Deliver professional sales and training presentations to customers, distributors, and internal teams.
- Provide consultative selling focused on value-driven solutions.
- Prepare and manage quotes, pricing, and contracts, ensuring accuracy and timely communication.
- Partner with branch locations to support customers, deliver training, and implement sales initiatives.
- Represent Atlas at national trade shows and industry events to enhance brand visibility.
- Resolve customer and channel conflicts in a professional and timely manner.
- Maintain accurate sales records, reports, and forecasts in company systems.
Performance Expectations & Metrics
- Achieve defined annual sales growth targets for both Texas and national accounts.
- Expand Atlas’s footprint with regional roll formers by successfully onboarding a defined number of new accounts each year.
- Meet or exceed goals for revenue, margin, account retention, and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure development, retention, and high performance of Territory Sales Managers.
- Deliver accurate and timely pipeline reporting and forecasting to leadership.
- Strengthen and protect long-term relationships with key accounts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of experience leading/managing a high-performing sales team.
- Proven success in achieving growth in competitive markets.
- 10+ years’ sales experience in the metal construction/building materials industry preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership ability to coach, mentor, and manage direct reports.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- High integrity, strong attention to detail, and results-driven mindset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain acceptable driving record.
- Ability to travel up to 70% nationally, including overnight travel.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods while visiting customers or attending trade shows.
- Ability to lift and transport up to 25 lbs. of marketing or sales materials as needed.
- Frequent travel by car and air required across multiple U.S. territories.
- Remote position based in Texas with required travel to customer sites, trade shows, and company facilities.
