The National Productivity Engineer is tasked with developing, implementing, and optimizing all routing-related initiatives and processes across the organization. This role focuses on driving continuous improvement efforts to enhance productivity, operational efficiency, and service performance in alignment with established standards. The position works collaboratively with Routing Leadership, Market Leadership, Operations, and IT teams to ensure smooth execution, effective cross-functional coordination, and consistent performance on a national level.
Job DescriptionMANAGING EXPECTATIONS
Oversee and execute route planning by implementing optimal routing solutions that comply with business requirements across designated markets.
Coordinate project activities, timelines, and communications with both internal and external cross-functional teams.
Collect, prepare, and maintain all data pertinent to routing projects, ensuring its accuracy and completeness.
Act as a subject matter expert for GSMs and Market Teams on productivity, efficiency, service standards, and route engineering to ensure routes are optimized.
Provide troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and technical support to GSMs and Market Teams as necessary.
Manage project milestones and deliverables, ensuring timely and high-quality execution.
Exercise professional judgment and escalate issues to management when guidance or corrective action is required.
Travel when necessary (estimated at 25% - 30%) to support routing project rollouts, market initiatives, and field execution.
Exhibit strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including assessing data quality and manipulating data to produce accurate insights.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Regularly required to use hands for activities such as fingering, handling, or feeling objects; reaching with hands and arms; and communicating effectively.
Frequently required to walk and sit.
Occasionally required to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Must be capable of lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds when necessary.
Must possess close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
May be exposed to moving mechanical parts and varying weather conditions.
The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.
QualificationsA bachelor's degree or 5–7 years of relevant industry experience.
3–5 years of experience in the beverage industry or a similar Direct Store Delivery (DSD) operations environment.
Strong leadership skills, including the ability to mentor, train, and provide constructive feedback effectively.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to create and present PowerPoint decks in both individual and group settings.
Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
Proven analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Additional InformationPREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in project management is considered an advantage.
Prior experience in logistics is preferred.
Familiarity with routing software (e.g., Descartes WinRoute) is also preferred.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This position is open to U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, or individuals who are currently authorized to work in the United States on a valid visa.
The base salary range for this position is $80,000 - $95,000 + cash incentives. Actual salary offers may vary based on work experience. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified.
