We are seeking a National Channel Sales Manager who is responsible to maximize revenues and profitability for the company. The person in this position will primarily focus on sales growth, marketing programs, sales trainings, internet product listings and optimization of product mix to maximize the return on our investments with key resellers, namely CDW and others as assigned.
What You'll Do:
- Broker the relationship between Planar and CDW and other resellers that may be assigned
- Maximize the ROI of Planar’s MDF spend at each assigned reseller
- Provide tactical action items as necessary to increase sales and brand awareness
- Assist in the creation of marketing communications/ programs for use by the resellers’ sales force to promote company products to their customers
- Audit the resellers’ websites for SKU accuracy to ensure company’s information and pricing is represented accurately and effectively
- Create and present proposals to the Sales Director on revenue driving activities at each account, including but not limited to MDF investment, targeted sales trainings, product promotions and discounts (web & print), and VIR programs
- Partner with Sales Operations & Distribution team to ensure adequate stocking levels with distribution partners
- Assist customers with escalations for technical support issues
- Attend reseller events and industry trade shows, as required
- Participate in end-user customer visits, as required
- Conduct and manage on-site and web trainings targeted to the reseller sales teams and their customers
- Assist with account and quarterly business reviews, as required
- Develop relationships with Product Managers, buyers, and sales staff via after-hours sales engagements and trainings
- Other responsibilities as assigned
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required
- A minimum of 3 or more years selling commercial and consumer products within the IT channel required. Preference for familiarity with digital signage displays and/or previous sales experience with touchscreens
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in DMR channel sales required , preferably with CDW, and the demonstrated ability to drive sales of a manufacturer’s full product line through channel partners
- Needs to be team oriented and possess excellent business skills
- Problem-solving skills required; ideal candidate will be a decisive self-starter
- Proven high-energy team player with sound decision-making background required
- Demonstrated excellent communications skills, written and verbal required
- The individual in this position must be self-motivated, and capable of working independently with minimal direction
- Must have a valid driver’s license
Other Requirements:
- This position will work with assigned accounts in the greater Chicago area. Must live in the Chicago metro area.
- Field based position. Candidate must be able to work from their home office and make frequent on-site visits to each reseller location. Travel expectation of at least 50% a must.
- Occasional lifting, up to 40 pounds, required.
