As an Account Manager for McKesson’s Remote Sales Team, you will build and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders across community practices within the American Rheumatology Network. You will serve as the primary point of contact for McKesson Provider Specialty, driving customer retention, business growth, and value delivery. You will manage 25-40 existing customers in our business within a geographic territory.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Physicians, Administrators, C-suite executives, Pharmacists, Nurses, and other stakeholders.

  • Serve as the primary liaison between McKesson and each ARN customer in your territory.

Value Delivery & Strategic Engagement

  • Identify and communicate opportunities for McKesson to deliver both differentiated and routine value.

  • Quantify financial impact of value delivered whenever possible.

Meeting Facilitation & Business Reviews

Lead and support:

  • Therapeutic Interchange Committee (TIC) meetings

  • Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR)

  • End-of-Quarter GPO Optimization meetings

Contract Negotiation & Retention

  • Negotiate distribution agreements between practices, ARN, and McKesson to ensure customer retention.

Internal Collaboration

Coordinate with internal teams including:

  • Onmark GPO

  • Clinical Specialists

  • Customer Success Managers

  • Customer Care

  • Medically Integrated Dispensing

  • Advisory Services

  • Finance, Pricing, and Operations

Performance Management

Manage your book of business to meet annual goals for:

  • Gross Profit

  • Revenue

  • Strategic business objectives

Product & Service Promotion

  • Promote additional McKesson products and services to ensure full utilization by eligible customers.

Minimum Requirements

Degree or equivalent and typically requires 2+ years of relevant experience.

Critical Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Business acumen and analytics usage to identify opportunities and trends

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to work with various teams to an end resolution and positive result. 

  • Organized, accountable, assertive, and focused on results.

  • Team player with strong interpersonal and resource management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

  • Influential communicator with focus on active listening and customizing messages appropriately for differing audiences.

  • Sales and/or account management experience in a professional setting preferred

Additional Skills:

  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical and healthcare industry

  • Experience in sales and/or account management preferred

Working Conditions

  • Able to travel extensively overnight to customers within a specified book of business - 30% by car & plane.

  • Must have a valid driver's license with a clean, active, unrestricted driving record/MVR.

  • Remote/Home Office work environment when not traveling

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.  In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered. Our Total Target Cash (TTC) Pay Range for this position:

28.85 - 48.09

Total Target Cash (TTC) is defined as base pay plus target incentive.
