True North IT | Boulder and Denver area | Mostly remote with occasional onsite
True North IT is a managed services provider based in Boulder, Colorado. We take care of the technology for around 26 companies across Colorado and beyond, many of them in healthcare, manufacturing, and compliance focused industries. We are a close team of five, and we are looking for a skilled engineer who is fluent in Microsoft 365 and just as comfortable across networks, who enjoys leading projects and also likes grabbing the harder tickets off the board.
This is a role with room to grow. We want a strong troubleshooter and problem solver who could step into a lead or project management role over time. We also build a lot of automation and AI into how we work, so if that kind of thing excites you, there is plenty of room to dig in.
You would have lots of freedom to work from home. We keep an office in Boulder for when it helps, and you would head to a client site now and then for the work that is better done in person, so we are looking for someone in the Boulder and Denver area.
What you would do
- Lead and contribute to projects such as migrations, security rollouts, network deployments, and new client onboarding
- Watch the ticket board and take on the mid to higher level escalations that need a steady hand
- Visit client sites occasionally for the hands on work
Help us build and improve the automations and AI tools that make our team faster
What we are looking for
You are a natural troubleshooter who enjoys getting to the bottom of a problem. You have high level fluency in Microsoft 365, and you are confident working across networks, from firewalls to switching to wireless. You move comfortably between focused project work and a busy ticket board, you communicate clearly and warmly with clients, and you document what you do so the whole team gets better. You work well on your own and just as well with the team. Hand you a direction and you run with it, coming back with good questions along the way, and your own drive carries the rest.
Required
- A few years of IT experience at an MSP
- High level fluency in Microsoft 365 administration, including identity and security
- Solid networking skills, including firewalls, switching, wireless, and troubleshooting
- Strong problem solving and clear, friendly communication with clients
- Based in the Boulder and Denver area, able to come into the office and visit client sites occasionally
- Either already hold SC-300 and MD-102, or open to earn both within first year, which we support and pay for
- Good workspace at home for remote work.
- Authorized to work in the United States
Nice to have
- Microsoft certs
- Interest or experience in automation and AI work, such as scripting, Power Automate, or building internal tools
- Fortinet or UniFi experience
- Familiarity with HaloPSA, NinjaOne, Hudu, Huntress, or Axcient
- Exposure to compliance work such as SOC 2 or HIPAA
- Any project management or team lead experience
How to apply
Send your resume and a short video telling us why this role appeals to you and one tricky recent ticket or project you are proud of solving.
