Their goal is to drive understanding and appropriate adoption of the company’s molecular diagnostic tests for thyroid cancer.

MSLs are recognized experts and trusted partners, serving as primary scientific and clinical resource to both external stakeholders and internal teams.  They translate complex genomic and clinical data into clear, actionable insights and support the full product lifecycle through educational initiatives, real-world evidence generation, and scientific collaboration.  MSLs are energized by providing clear solutions to physicians and patients for currently unmet diagnostic and clinical needs.  An essential responsibility for this position will be to stimulate investigator-initiated studies using Veracyte’s rich genomic dataset and work closely with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) through study completion.

This field-based role is part of the Medical Affairs organization and requires extensive collaboration with sales, marketing, and cross-functional teams.  Approximately 80% of the time is dedicated to HCP-facing activities (in-person or virtually), with the remaining 20% focused on internal collaborations.  This role requires ~60% travel, across the Southern Mid-Atlantic region. Ideal candidates will be from the mid-Atlantic region especially Maryland, Delaware, Washington DC, Virginia, W. Virginia

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with academic and community physicians to support understanding and adoption of Veracyte’s diagnostic tests.
  • Identify and engage Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs); support investigator-initiated studies through publication.
  • Deliver tailored scientific presentations in collaboration with the sales team.
  • Contribute to the generation of real-world evidence demonstrating clinical utility.
  • Partner cross-functionally to inform product strategy and support continuous improvement.
  • Critically evaluate scientific literature and develop educational materials for both external and internal audiences.
  • Serve as a scientific resource to internal teams through medical updates, journal clubs, and office hours.
  • Support managed care initiatives by providing clinical and scientific evidence for coverage discussions.
  • Provide conference coverage and synthesize key insights for internal stakeholders.
Who You Are:
  • Terminal scientific and/or clinical degree – Ph.D., M.D., Pharm.D.
  • Minimum 3 years of clinical or industry experience (oncology/endocrinology preferred).
  • Demonstrated understanding of the peer-review and publication process (e.g., first-author publication).
  • Strong foundation in genomics and molecular diagnostics.
  • Prior MSL experience, particularly supporting novel diagnostic tests, is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Solid understanding of clinical research and statistical methodologies.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage competing priorities.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively (~60%).
