We are looking for an MQA Engineer for a 3-month contract with potential prolongation to the project focused on building a portal that simplifies the Medicaid application process. The platform will support multiple types of Medicaid applications, enabling both individual applicants and organizations (such as lawyers, nursing homes, etc.) to apply on behalf of others. By moving the process online, the system will significantly reduce government response times from 45 days to just 24 hours.
Responsibilities:
- End-User Focused Testing: Validate product features with the mindset of a real customer, ensuring usability, accessibility, and functionality.
- Test Planning & Execution: Design, document, and execute manual test cases across web applications.
- API Testing: Use Postman and Swagger to test RESTful APIs, validate request/response payloads, and ensure proper integration between frontend and backend.
- Database Validation: Write and execute SQL queries to verify data correctness, perform backend checks, and support troubleshooting.
- Product Documentation Support: Collaborate with product and development teams to maintain clear and up-to-date product documentation and test cases.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with developers during the build cycle to ensure requirements are met and edge cases are considered early.
- Issue Tracking & Reporting: Identify, log, and prioritize defects; provide structured, detailed bug reports with clear reproduction steps.
- Continuous Improvement: Proactively suggest improvements in QA processes, testing efficiency, and overall product quality.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 2–4 years in manual QA or software testing, ideally within product-focused teams.
Technical Proficiency:
- Solid understanding of Client-Server Architecture, including request/response cycles, HTTP methods, and status codes.
- Hands-on experience with Postman for API testing, including creating collections, writing test scripts, and automating test flows.
- Familiarity with Swagger (OpenAPI) for reviewing and validating API specifications and testing endpoints.
- Practical knowledge of SQL for querying databases, validating data integrity, and supporting backend testing.
- Experience with test case management tools (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr).
- Familiarity with bug tracking systems (e.g., Jira, YouTrack).
- Strong grasp of QA methodologies, SDLC, and Agile workflows.
Documentation Skills: Ability to create, maintain, and improve product documentation, including edge cases and feature flows.Adaptability: Comfortable working with changing priorities and in a high-velocity development cycle.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate issues clearly and collaborate effectively across teams.
Product-oriented mindset.
English: Upper-intermediate level or higher.
