Northrop Grumman Space Systems, Multi-Domain Operations, and Missile Defense Integration Business Unit (BU) has an exciting career opportunity for a Modeling & Simulation Software Engineer – Level 3 or 4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This job is in Boulder, CO – Boulder is nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, and only 25 miles from downtown Denver. Due to the nature of our work, full-time in-person work is required.

Position Overview:

As a Modeling & Simulation Software Engineer – Level 3 or 4 focused on modeling and simulation tasks. You will be responsible for the design, development, documentation, testing, deployment, and debugging of modeling and simulation applications. You may leverage the output of the model you created to run through the code and test the system. This includes researching, identifying, and implementing solutions to complex, multi-disciplinary software problems.

Seeking candidates who find satisfaction in working on challenging and diverse assignments in collaborative settings across all levels.

This requisition may be filled at a higher level based on the qualifications listed below.

This requisition may be filled at either a Principal Software Engineer – Level 3 or a Sr. Principal Software Engineer – Level 4.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Principal Software Engineer – Level 3: Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of experience, or a PhD. and 1 year of experience.
  • Sr. Principal Software Engineer – Level 4: Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 8 years of related experience, or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 6 years of experience, or a PhD. and 4 year of experience.
  • Complex Modeling & Simulation Experience (Prior Optical Signatures Code (OSC) and/or Digital Imaging and Remote Sensing Image Generation (DIRSIG) experience is ideal.)
  • Modern C++ (v20 preferred)
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% to support business needs (only if needed)
  • Applicants must have an active in-scope U.S. Government issued Secret security clearance at the time of application and is required to start; with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) security clearance.

Primary Level Salary Range: $114,000.00 - $171,000.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $142,200.00 - $213,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
