As a Mobile Engineer, you will lead the development of Heard's React Native mobile app, establish mobile infrastructure, ensure high-quality experiences, and shape the mobile design system while collaborating with product and design teams.
Heard is an all-in-one financial solution for therapists that combines software and human support to handle bookkeeping, taxes, payroll, and more. Our mission is to help therapists be therapists by acting as their financial back office to empower therapists to spend less time running their business and more time giving clients the help and support they need through an affordable, easy-to-use software tool with real-time human support.

Role Overview
We’re looking for our first mobile engineer to own and build on our initial mobile experience. At Heard, you’ll be able to build from the ground up, shape product decisions, and make a meaningful impact on the therapists that are using Heard to power their business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of our React Native mobile app
- Collaborate with product, design, and relevant stakeholders to ship high quality experiences for our therapists
- Help establish the foundation for mobile infrastructure, tooling, and long-term maintainability
- Set the standard for engineering quality and mobile development best practices
- Iterate on and help shape our mobile design system
- Champion the mobile experience and bring deep empathy to the user journey
Qualifications
- 4–6 years of professional mobile development experience, with experience in React Native
- Proven ability to ship and maintain high-quality mobile apps
- Strong product sense and a keen eye for design and usability, with a high bar for the user experience
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup environment with high level of ownership
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, and ability to articulate tradeoffs
- Empathy and care for health and wellness providers
Bonus
- Experience building in a startup as a first mobile hire
- Worked on or helped establish a design system for mobile
- Familiarity with consumer fintech and/or the health and wellness space
