Salary/Wage:

$20.00 - $23.00/hr.

Mon. - Fri. (9:30 a.m.  -  6:30 p.m.) subject to change for business needs

Job Summary/Description:

KKTV has an immediate opening for a full-time MMJ/Reporter. Looking for storytellers who want to be part of a collaborative team devoted to telling important stories in their communities. Are you a strong writer with an eye for compelling visuals who thrives on live reporting, breaking news, and strict deadlines? We have a full suite of platforms, including a dynamic website, a powerful mobile app, and multiple streaming channels. This position is immediately available, and the deadline to apply for this position is 04/30/2026.

Duties/Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

- Pitch daily news stories and produce stories in various formats for newscasts and digital platforms, including contributing to the station's digital platforms throughout the day.
- Shoot and edit video to contribute to impactful storytelling.
- Cover breaking news with live reports suitable for various platforms, including both broadcast and digital platforms.
- Develop a network of sources to support effective daily story pitches.
- Other duties as required from time to time by newsroom leaders.

Qualifications/Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and/or substantial previous journalism experience.
- 2 or more years of demonstrable journalism experience, preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including excellent news writing and visual storytelling ability.
- Familiarity with digital video cameras, non-linear editing, and social media platforms.
- Ability to lift 35-40lbs of gear.
- The position requires a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
