As a D365 F&O Technical Solutions Architect can expect to…

  • Act as Technical Solution Architect (TSA) on projects implementing solutions with D365 F&O as their cornerstone
  • Perform technical solution advisory role during the analysis phase: ensuring solution components are planned and deployed appropriately, solution development will follow best practices, and solution integrations are implemented via the appropriate patterns
  • Lead project technical workstreams, managing technical resources contributing to your projects
  • Facilitate or effectively delegate technical planning sessions, design sessions and workshops
  • Own technical sections of the Solution Blueprint Document describing:
    • Key technical aspects of solution software and hardware components
    • High level technical approaches for key extensions/customizations
    • Key requirements for solution integrations and planned implementation pattern
  • Contribute to the functional design process (extensions, customizations, integrations)
  • Collaborate with project contributors to understand the business requirements driving the functional design, performing or delegating research of source code behind solution gaps, advise and research integration possibilities, and seek out opportunities to modify a functional design that simplifies the requisite development work
  • Convert or effectively delegate functional designs into technical design documents (TDD) confirming technical solution consistency, best practices and business requirements
  • Oversee D365 F&O solution technical configuration project development tasks (such as: extensions, customizations, integrations), seeking delegation opportunities but implementing solution extensions as needed

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience x++ development
  • 7+ years of full life cycle implementation experience with D365 F&O (and prior versions)
  • 10+ years of technical experience with related technologies such as Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft .NET, Active Directory, Data Migration Framework (DMF), and Azure DevOps
  • Experience delivering major upgrades of AX 2009, AX 2012 to Dynamics 365 FO
  • Specific knowledge of core D365 F&O development tools, including X++, C# and experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) within D365 F&O
  • Specific knowledge of related technologies and platforms, including: Power Platform, Dataverse
  • Specific knowledge and experience architecting and delivering integrations via: Azure Integration Services, Dynamics Dual Write, Business events, Dynamics 365 F&O integration capabilities
  • Experience translating business requirements into technical specifications and interfacing with functional team members to translate these requirements into deliverables
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver configuration/advanced customizations, client-side enhancements, integrations and programming in D365 Solution
  • Ability to triage and fix bugs/issues and utilize MS provided technical resources
  • Previous experience working within a structured implementation environment with structured development methodologies and standards; Agile Methodology is a plus
  • Familiarity and/or experience with D365 F&O Workflow
