Job Purpose
ACI Speedpay moves tens of billions of dollars a year for thousands of billers — and nearly every one of those integrations happens through the platform this role owns. The Group Product Manager, Platform & API leads product strategy and execution for ACI Speedpay's API and developer experience platform: the interfaces, SDKs, and integration surface that let billers and internal teams build on our biller payments infrastructure quickly and confidently.
This leader manages a team of Product Managers aligned to platform sub-domains, and partners closely with the Director of Platform Product Management and Engineering leadership to ensure the platform scales with the business
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Platform Strategy & Vision
Define and own the API / SKD and developer experience product vision and roadmap — near-term execution and 2–3 year strategic direction — aligned to the broader platform strategy
Translate platform consolidation and simplification priorities into a concrete API and integration roadmap
Establish clear ownership boundaries for the sub-domains within the platform
Platform Portfolio Management
Own the end-to-end lifecycle of API / developer experience products — discovery, roadmap, delivery, adoption, and retirement
Define and track platform success metrics: time-to-first-successful-call, integration time, API adoption/reuse, developer NPS, reliability/incident rate
Prioritize investment across new capability development and technical debt / consolidation, backed by data
Organizational Leadership
Lead, coach, and grow a team of Product Managers aligned to platform sub-domains
Instill a discovery-first, hypothesis-driven approach to product decisions across the team
Hold the team accountable for outcomes, not output
Cross-Functional Alignment
Partner with Engineering, Architecture, Security/Risk, and consuming product teams to drive platform adoption and standardization
Represent platform investment tradeoffs and sequencing to senior stakeholders with data-backed recommendations
Act as the escalation point when platform priorities conflict across consuming teams
Operating Principles
Builder, not broker: understands technical tradeoffs well enough to have the conversation directly with Engineering, not through a proxy
Discovery over assumption: pain points are found by observing how people actually work, not only by what they ask for
Bias to action: moves on sufficient signal, doesn't wait for certainty
Outcome-driven, not output-driven
AI-Enabled Product Innovation & Operational Excellence
Evaluate and champion the responsible use of AI-enabled tools, automation, and emerging technologies to enhance developer experience, accelerate product delivery, improve decision-making, and drive measurable productivity gains across the platform product portfolio. Identify opportunities where AI capabilities can create customer, partner, or operational value while ensuring compliance with security, risk, and governance requirements.
Qualifications (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
10-12+ years in product management, including experience leading platform, API, or developer-facing products at scale
Prior experience managing or mentoring other Product Managers
Payments, financial infrastructure, or other regulated / high-trust domain experience
Strong technical fluency — able to evaluate API design and architecture tradeoffs directly with Engineering
Track record of building roadmap and strategy in ambiguous, undefined problem spaces
Exceptional stakeholder management and cross-level communication — able to influence engineers and executives in the language each needs
Data-driven decision making with a clear bias to action
Experience partnering with Risk / Compliance / Architecture functions in a regulated environment
Preferred Qualifications (Education, Experience, Competencies)
Bachelor's degree, or higher education, in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
Experience at a company where API / platform was the core product
Experience in a banking / fintech environment where risk and velocity had to coexist
Direct experience with real-time payment rails or card network integrations
Change management experience
