The Manager, Access Strategy & Coding supports the Market Access function by maintaining payer coding and external registry accuracy across the Baylor Genetics test portfolio. This role ensures CPT implementation, payer registry updates and test menu alignment are executed accurately and consistently to support reimbursement and operational readiness.
This position directly impacts Revenue Cycle Management, Product Execution, Sales and Market Access teams by ensuring coding accuracy and compliance. Success in this role is demonstrated by timely registry updates, accurate payer coding across systems, reducing coding-related escalations and strong cross-functional coordination. The scope of this role may evolve as organizational needs change.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Update and maintain payer coding for all tests within the Baylor Genetics portfolio to ensure accuracy across billing and registry systems
· Manage payer registry submissions and updates (e.g., DEX, Concert Genetics), ensuring entries are accurate, complete and aligned with current test offerings
· Coordinate with Product Execution and RCM teams to implement payer coding for new tests in accordance with established SOPs
· Maintain and reconcile internal test menu records to ensure coding consistency across systems
· Support development of payer-facing materials in collaboration with Market Access Channel Directors
· Monitor payer registry requirements and implement updates to maintain compliance
· Perform other duties as assigned to support team and organizational objectives.
· Comply with all company policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
· Bachelor’s degree in genetics, molecular biology, life sciences, health policy, healthcare administration or related field
· 3+ years of experience in molecular diagnostics, clinical laboratory operations, reimbursement or healthcare-related field
· Working knowledge of CPT coding principles
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a remote work environment
· Effective cross-functional communication skills
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Preferred:
· Experience in genetic or molecular diagnostic testing
· Experience with payer registry systems (e.g., DEX, Concert Genetics)
· Familiarity with laboratory billing systems and test menu management
