Job Position Description:

KRDO13 is seeking a full-time meteorologist. We are searching for a seasoned on-air personality who embraces our weather and station brand on broadcast and digital platforms. We go big and break into programming for severe weather coverage. We are looking for a meteorologist who understands how to build compelling forecasts with engaging graphics. This person must work well with staff of all levels in high pressure and fluid situations.  The meteorologist must also be comfortable working with the News Director and station leadership daily to drive weather coverage.

Required qualifications:

• Deliver live forecasts and cut ins in studio and from an outdoor weather deck.
• Regularly produce content for station and professional digital platforms.
• Attend daily editorial meetings for weather updates.
• Willingness to occasionally report live in the field for weather team coverage.
• Ability to shift schedule on short notice for coverage needs.
• Willingness to participate in station events and represent the station in the community.
• Be a team player and lead by example at all times.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2+ years of weather experience at a commercial TV station.
• Meteorology degree preferred.
• Experience creating digital weather content.

Annual Salary Range:

$60,000.00; based on experience. Exempt.

KRDO13 is in downtown Colorado Springs, Colorado, near the base of Pikes Peak, along the front range of the Rocky Mountains, and close to Garden of the Gods.
