Memberships Committee
Location: Remote
Responsibilities:
Conduct phone interviews with all prospective members to assess alignment with Base’s mission, culture, and community standards
Build instant rapport with candidates through authentic conversation, active listening, and curiosity
Ask thoughtful questions to understand a candidate’s interests, intent, and motivations to join Base
Evaluate fit based on personality, values, and experience while maintaining a warm, welcoming tone
Communicate Base’s vision and values in a compelling way
Document detailed notes from each interview for review
Provide recommendations on acceptance and follow up based on established criteria
Collaborate with the membership team to ensure a consistent and high quality onboarding experience.
Represent Base with professionalism, positivity, and enthusiasm in every interaction
Experience:
Proven experience in a people-facing role (e.g., sales, community management, recruiting, membership services)
Exceptional verbal communication skills - articulate, engaging, and persuasive without being pushy
Strong active listening skills with the ability to elicit trust and learn insights
Charismatic, extroverted, and naturally able to put people at ease
Skilled at reading tone, nuance, and personality over the phone
Able to balance selling Base’s value with objectively assessing fit
Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple calls and follow ups each day
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities
Passion for community building and creating meaningful connections between people
High emotional intelligence and ability to navigate sensitive conversations
Comp:
Call-based comp structure ($30/hour for 3 completed calls)
Minimum of 20 hours/week
