Title: Master Scheduler/Planner
Position Type: Full-Time/Exempt
Pay Range: $85,000 - $105,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data)
Location: Louisville, CO (Onsite)
Position Purpose: The Master Scheduler/Planner role goes beyond executing existing systems. It will create structure, drive continuous improvement, and strengthen ERP discipline, data integrity, and cross-functional coordination. Hands-on and highly cross-functional, the Master Scheduler is critical to on-time delivery, smooth production flow, and scaling operations.
Job Responsibilities:
Integrated Planning & Scheduling
- Partner with Program Management to translate customer requirements and milestones into executable plans.
- Set up projects and sales orders in ERP based on Program Management inputs.
- Build and maintain the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and Master Production Schedule (MPS) from engineering release through procurement, manufacturing, integration, test, and delivery.
- Work closely with Engineering and Configuration Management to manage ECOs, configuration changes, and release timing. PLM processes are still developing, requiring hands-on collaboration to turn changes into actionable schedules.
- Coordinate with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, and Test to ensure material readiness, capacity alignment, and milestone execution.
- Monitor schedule health from start to finish, identify risks early, and drive cross-functional resolution to keep programs on track.
ERP & Systems Leadership
- Develop and optimize ERP scheduling parameters, including lead times, routings, BOM structures, work centers, and capacity settings.
- Improve data integrity and system discipline to enable reliable MRP and capacity planning.
- Standardize workflows for work order creation, material transactions, and demand planning in an evolving environment.
- Lead ongoing ERP optimization efforts to improve functionality, usability, and planning accuracy.
- Support future ERP system enhancements or implementations (implementation experience preferred).
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Partner with Engineering and Configuration Management to actively shape processes as PLM systems mature.
- Align material availability with production needs in partnership with Supply Chain.
- Balance capacity and resolve bottlenecks in collaboration with Manufacturing.
- Support Program Management with schedule visibility, recovery plans, and milestone tracking.
Capacity & Risk Management
- Perform capacity planning and what-if scenario analysis to support growth and demand variability.
- Identify schedule risks and develop mitigation plans.
- Recommend process improvements to increase throughput and reduce lead times.
Reporting & Metrics
- Define, develop, and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure schedule performance, on-time delivery, lead times, and production efficiency.
- Build reporting processes that provide clear visibility into program status, constraints, and risks for cross-functional teams and leadership.
- Continuously refine metrics as processes evolve to ensure actionable insights and support data-driven decisions.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications/Education:
- 7+ years of production planning or master scheduling experience in aerospace, defense, or complex manufacturing.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, or related field.
- Strong experience with ERP systems (GSS knowledge is a plus).
- Experience in an engineer-to-order environment.
- Strong understanding of MRP, MPS, capacity planning, and inventory control.
- Demonstrated experience building or formalizing planning processes in a growing or changing organization.
- Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Preferred
- ERP implementation experience.
- Familiarity with aerospace quality standards (AS9100).
- APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM or CSCP).
- Perform other duties as assigned
