As a MarTech (Braze, primarily) Technical Architect, you will be both a strategic advisor and a hands-on builder. You will design and implement cutting-edge CRM and growth marketing solutions, bridging the gap between marketing goals and technical execution.
From mapping lifecycle strategies to writing the Liquid, building the data flows, and coding the integrations, you will empower clients to achieve high-velocity, deeply personalized, and data-driven customer engagement. This role is equal parts architect, engineer, and strategist — perfect for someone who thrives on seeing strategy come to life through execution.
Role Objectives- Partner with clients to architect and implement scalable MarTech solutions that drive growth and customer lifetime value.
- Roll up your sleeves to build, integrate, and optimize across SDK/API connections, campaign automation, and personalization logic.
- Act as the bridge between marketing, product, design and engineering, ensuring strategies translate into reliable and future-ready platforms.
- Develop frameworks, playbooks, and reusable assets that elevate VGV’s MarTech practice and deliver premium outcomes for clients.
- Build, QA and launch campaigns, teaching teams the most effective way to adopt the most advanced technological features, automation capabilities and personalization strategies.
- Leverage HTML and other technologies to code email, in-app messages, content cards and other communications for launch, including coding modular design systems for owned-channel messaging.
Strategy & Architecture
- Translate client growth goals into technical solutions across CRM, CDP, and analytics platforms.
- Design scalable data models, workflows, and integrations to support advanced lifecycle marketing.
- Conduct solution reviews and provide forward-looking recommendations on architecture, tools, and process.
Hands-On Engineering
- Deploy complex campaigns, Canvases, and automations in platforms like Braze.
- Use HTML and other mobile-responsive coding to prepare modular channel systems for launch.
- Write Liquid, Connected Content, and personalization logic to enable 1:1 customer experiences.
- Implement SDKs and APIs, set up event tracking, and ensure clean, reliable data flow across systems.
- Troubleshoot technical issues, debugging and delivering solutions directly.
Growth Enablement
- Partner with marketers and product managers to launch new lifecycle campaigns, from experimentation to scale.
- Build onboarding and enablement materials so clients can independently operate their platforms.
- Deliver workshops and training that combine technical depth with practical marketing applications.
Innovation & Optimization
- Identify opportunities to optimize performance, speed, and personalization at scale.
- Stay current with emerging MarTech capabilities and integrate new tools where they deliver measurable client value.
- Champion experimentation and test-and-learn approaches that drive both short-term wins and long-term growth.
Culture & Mentorship
- Mentor teammates in growth engineering best practices, code quality, and problem solving.
- Share knowledge, contribute to reusable playbooks, and foster VGV’s culture of collaboration and curiosity.
- 5+ years in growth engineering, MarTech, or CRM technical architecture roles.
- Hands-on expertise with Braze (Canvas, segmentation, personalization, APIs/SDKs) is required.
- Strong technical skills in APIs, SDKs, data flows, and campaign automation.
- Experience building and scaling lifecycle campaigns across multiple channels (email, push, in-app, SMS, WhatsApp, etc.).
- Ability to code and configure in tools like Liquid, SQL, or scripting languages.
- Excellent communication skills; comfortable talking with CMOs one minute and debugging code the next.
- Highly fluent or native command of English.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% for client engagements and VGV team collaboration.
- Braze Certified Technical Architect or similar certifications.
- Experience with CDPs, data warehouses, and analytics platforms (Amplitude, Segment, Snowflake, etc.).
- Familiarity with advanced personalization and experimentation frameworks.
- Exposure to SCRUM / Agile practices and project management.
- Experience designing loyalty programs or growth experimentation playbooks.
VGV wants all employees to be supported in their personal and professional development, so we take a comprehensive approach to compensation and benefits. The initial annual base salary for this position in the U.S. is expected to range from $129k - $145k. We benchmark every role based on location and against comparable companies to ensure competitiveness; however, actual compensation depends on experience, skills, qualifications and other job-related factors.
