Position Overview

Blue Acorn iCi is looking for a Marketo Consultant to serve as a client-facing technical consultant focused on helping clients realize and quantify value from Adobe solutions. This role requires deep technical and business expertise across Marketo Engage, including architecture, automation, integrations, governance, and advanced troubleshooting.

The Marketo Consultant will partner with clients to understand business objectives, assess technical environments, identify implementation gaps, and provide strategic recommendations that drive measurable business outcomes. This individual will collaborate across teams to deliver both technical and strategic services while acting as a trusted advisor for Marketo best practices, solution design, and platform optimization.

Key ResponsibilitiesClient Consulting & Solution Strategy
  • Serve as a recognized authority in Adobe Marketo Engage and integrated Adobe solutions following industry best practices and standards.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on B2B marketing automation methodologies and best practices.
  • Gather and understand client business objectives, technical requirements, and key performance indicators.
  • Assess client technical environments and identify implementation gaps relative to business goals.
  • Translate business use cases into scalable Marketo solution designs while balancing campaign flexibility, reporting requirements, integration dependencies, and platform guardrails.
  • Review technical designs for alignment with KPIs, business objectives, and implementation feasibility.
  • Document actionable recommendations to reduce implementation risk and improve platform adoption.
Marketo Architecture & Integration
  • Advise clients on architectural design and B2B data models for Marketo integrations.
  • Design and evaluate integrations between Marketo and enterprise platforms including CRM, ERP, and other business systems.
  • Review API usage patterns and integration architecture to identify quota, throughput, concurrency, and data processing risks.
  • Provide guidance on integration technologies including REST APIs, webhooks, CRM synchronization, and interoperability across Adobe and non-Adobe systems.
  • Evaluate processing, scalability, and downstream impacts of complex data models and recommend sustainable solutions.
Marketing Automation & Platform Optimization
  • Provide troubleshooting and design guidance for advanced Marketo data structures, including custom fields, custom objects, and custom activities.
  • Evaluate Smart Campaign designs, trigger versus batch strategies, campaign qualification behavior, and operational guardrails.
  • Support troubleshooting of complex automation issues including campaign recursion, processing delays, activity volume impacts, sync backlogs, and unintended behavior.
  • Provide best-practice guidance for Marketo Design Studio assets including emails, forms, templates, and landing pages.
  • Recommend scalable solutions that support performance, maintainability, and long-term growth.
Client Engagement & Delivery
  • Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously while ensuring timely delivery and high-quality service.
  • Interact regularly with marketers, analysts, developers, and executive stakeholders.
  • Facilitate technical discussions and solution reviews with clients and partners.
  • Establish credibility and trust through strong communication and consulting skills.
  • Support customer success initiatives and drive adoption of Adobe solutions.
Documentation & Operational Excellence
  • Maintain accurate project records, workload estimates, and time tracking documentation.
  • Create client-facing documentation, presentations, and recommendations using Microsoft Office and AI-enabled tools.
  • Leverage AI technologies to improve workflow efficiency, research platform capabilities, and accelerate delivery.
  • Continuously expand technical expertise through training, certifications, and self-study.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Deep technical expertise in Adobe Marketo Engage, including architecture, data design, automation, integrations, governance, and advanced troubleshooting.
  • 7+ years of direct client consulting experience.
  • Experience designing and supporting complex Marketo implementations.
  • Expertise in B2B marketing automation best practices.
  • Experience with REST APIs, webhooks, CRM synchronization, Model Context Protocol (MCP), and enterprise integration patterns.
  • Strong understanding of Marketo data architecture and scalability considerations.
  • Experience evaluating Smart Campaign processing, operational workflows, and automation performance.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into architecture, design, and development activities.
  • Experience presenting technical solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong facilitation, consulting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency utilizing AI tools within daily workflows.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to establish credibility and trust with clients and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience integrating Marketo with Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, NetSuite, Oracle, and other enterprise platforms.
  • Experience supporting complex B2B marketing operations environments.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Experience Cloud solutions beyond Marketo.
  • Experience with web and mobile solution architecture.
  • Proven success working in fast-paced consulting environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Marketing Technology, Business, or a related field.
Compensation

The base salary range for this position is $135,000 – $185,000 annually. Actual compensation may vary depending on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors.
