POSITION SUMMARY

    As we continue to expand our state stewardship programs, we are seeking a detail-oriented Marketing Coordinator to support state rollout plans, consumer education, and ongoing outreach initiatives related to battery recycling and stewardship programs.  

    This role will support the Stewardship team in stewardship communications, campaign coordination, reporting, partner outreach, and education efforts across multiple states. The ideal candidate is highly organized, collaborative, and passionate about supporting mission-driven environmental programs through clear communication and effective project coordination.  

    The Marketing Coordinator will also support the execution of marketing campaigns, content development, events, and partner communications across multiple platforms. This role is well-suited for a strong communicator and organized multitasker who is excited to contribute to a collaborative, mission-driven team.  

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Duties and responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to the following: 
     
    Stewardship Campaigns & Consumer Education
  • Support implementation of state stewardship awareness and education campaigns tied to battery recycling laws, new program rollouts, and ongoing program requirements.  
  • Coordinate state-specific communications across digital, social media, email, website, retailer, community and partner channels. 
  • Assist with the development and distribution of stewardship marketing materials, including flyers, signage, toolkits, presentations, FAQs, newsletters, and digital assets. 
  • Support consumer education initiatives focused on safe battery handling and recycling, collection participation, and state-specific program information.  
  • State Rollout & Project Coordination
  • Support marketing execution for new state stewardship program launches and ongoing education and outreach initiatives.  
  • Track campaign timelines, deliverables, approvals, communication milestones, and reporting deadlines to help ensure work is completed accurately and on schedule
  • Maintain stewardship marketing calendars for state launches, campaigns, events, partner communications, and required reporting activities.  
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Stewardship, Operations, Customer Success, etc., to address state-specific communication needs and program priorities. 
  • Coordinate work with external agencies, vendors, and partners as assigned.  
  • Messaging, Brand & Quality Assurance
  • Help ensure stewardship communications align with approved program language, applicable state requirements, and The Battery Network brand standards. 
  • Coordinate reviews and perform proofreading, formatting, and quality checks to promote accuracy and consistency across states, channels, and partners. 
  • Maintain and organize stewardship-related marketing assets, templates, educational materials, and digital libraries.  
  • Analytics & Reporting
  • Track and compile campaign and outreach measures, including engagement, website traffic, collection locator, searches, QR code scans, email performance, and outreach participation.  
  • Assist with stewardship reporting support by collecting, organizing, and validating marketing and outreach data required for state program reviews and reports. 
  • Prepare campaign recaps, reporting summaries, and performance updates for internal teams and program requirements.
  • Coordinate with agency and digital teams to gather performance insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.  
  • Events, Outreach & Partner Support
  • Support the coordination and promotion of stewardship-related events, collection initiatives, webinars, trade shows, and partner outreach activities.  
  • Coordinate event materials and logistics, including signage, tents, promotional items, presentations, educational collateral, outreach and follow-up communications.  

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-5 years of experience in marketing, communications, campaign coordination, program outreach, or a related field. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field, OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. 
  • Experience using data and performance measures to support marketing decisions, campaign reporting, or program improvements.  
  • Experience coordinating multiple projects, timelines, stakeholders, and deliverables in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States for The Battery Network, with or without sponsorship

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience supporting multi-state campaigns, public education initiatives, or program launches. 
  • Familiarity with marketing and content platforms such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, email marketing tools, Google Analytics, WordPress, HubSportm, ClickDimenstions, Airtable, or related systems. 
  • Experience supporting SEO, SEM, social media, webinars, trade shows, or community outreach initiatives.  
  • Experience supporting marketing or communications for stewardship, recycling, sustainability, environmental, nonprofit, regulated, or mission-driven programs is a plus.  

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & EXPERIENCE

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to make complex or regulated program information clear and accessible to varied audiences.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, proofreading, and quality assurance skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize competing work, adapt to changing needs, and meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy. 
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, agencies, vendors, retailers, community partners, and other stakeholders.  
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and comfort learning new marketing, project management, and reporting tools.  
  • Working knowledge of digital, email, social media, website and partner communication channels.  
  • Ability to compile, organize, and interpret campaign and outreach data for reporting purposes.  
  • Interest in advancing battery safety, recycling, circular economy, and environmental stewardship. 
  • Interested in an able to flourish within a mission-driven organization where culture, collaboration, diversity, equity, inclusion, and environmental stewardship are highly valued.  

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • This position is remote based within the United States. Candidates must be able to work from a U.S.-based location and be eligible to work lawfully in the United States for The Battery Network.
  • Limited travel (estimated 3-5 times per year) as needed. Travel could include, but not be limited to, attending conferences, customer meetings, or team/organization-wide meetings.
  • Standard full-time work hours are Monday–Friday, 8 hours per day. Some roles may require additional hours during peak periods. We prioritize the quality and timeliness of work over rigid schedules and recognize the importance of connection, collaboration, and work-life balance.
