About 9amHealth

9amHealth is an AI-enabled virtual specialty care platform focused on managing high-cost chronic conditions at scale. The company partners with employers, health plans, and pharmacy benefit managers to deliver comprehensive, cost-effective medical care for individuals living with obesity, diabetes, hypertension, and dyslipidemia. Members receive access to specialized clinicians, including endocrinologists, obesity medicine specialists, and clinical pharmacists, at-home lab testing, prescription medications, and lifestyle support.
9amHealth was founded in 2021 and is backed by leading healthcare investors like Define Ventures, SemperVirens, 7Wire Ventures, and The Cigna Group Ventures.

We're looking for a Marketing Community Manager to build and nurture the communities that make 9amHealth feel real and trustworthy to the people we serve. In our B2B2C model, trust doesn't come from a single touchpoint—it's built over time through consistent presence, authentic storytelling, and genuine engagement. This role is responsible for creating that presence across social media, digital communities, and in-person events.

The right person understands how to speak to two audiences simultaneously—the employers and benefits teams who choose 9amHealth, and the members who depend on it for their health. You're equally comfortable crafting a LinkedIn post that resonates with an HR leader and building a member community that feels warm, credible, and supportive. You know that community isn't a channel—it's a relationship—and you have the discipline and creativity to build it at scale.

What You'll Do

Community Building & Engagement

  • Build and manage 9amHealth's member community: Develop and grow online and offline communities where existing and prospective members can connect, share experiences, and engage with 9amHealth content and support resources.

  • Drive engagement across the member lifecycle: Create touchpoints that keep members active, informed, and connected to 9amHealth—from pre-enrollment awareness through long-term retention.

  • Cultivate member advocates and ambassadors: Identify and nurture members who are passionate about their 9amHealth experience and support them in sharing their stories authentically.

  • Manage community platforms: Own the day-to-day moderation, content calendars, and health of community spaces—whether that's a dedicated member forum, a Facebook group, an app-based community, or another channel.

  • Respond and engage: Be an active, responsive presence in community spaces—answering questions, surfacing concerns to the right internal teams, and ensuring members feel heard and supported.

Social Media

  • Own 9amHealth's social media presence: Manage content strategy, creation, and publishing across key platforms Instagram, Facebook, and others) with a consistent brand voice tailored to each audience.

  • Create content that builds trust: Develop posts, stories, short-form video, and member spotlights that reflect the real impact of 9amHealth—clinically credible, emotionally resonant, and shareable.

  • Monitor performance and iterate: Track engagement metrics, audience growth, and content performance across platforms. Use data to inform what to do more of and what to change.

  • Stay ahead of trends: Keep 9amHealth's social presence timely, relevant, and reflective of the conversations happening in health, wellness, and the future of work.

Events

  • Plan and execute member and community events: Design and run virtual and in-person events—webinars, member meetups, wellness programming, and Q&As—that deepen engagement and reinforce 9amHealth's value.

  • Support employer in person events: Work with Customer Success and Marketing to attend employer health fairs and other events in person.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Be the voice of the community internally: Surface member sentiment, feedback, and trends to Marketing, Product, and Clinical teams so that community insights shape how we build and communicate.

  • Collaborate with clinical and content teams: Partner with clinical staff and content creators to develop programming and messaging that is medically accurate, on-brand, and genuinely useful to members.

What You'll Need
  • 4+ years of experience in community management, social media, or a closely related marketing role—ideally at a consumer health, wellness, or B2B2C company.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and grow engaged online communities, not just manage content calendars.

  • Strong social media instincts across platforms—you know what works on LinkedIn versus Instagram versus a member forum and you write and create accordingly.

  • Experience planning and executing events, both virtual and in-person, from conception through post-event follow-up.

  • Excellent writing and communication skills—you can adapt your voice to speak to an HR leader and a member managing a chronic condition in the same day.

  • Comfort operating at the intersection of B2B and B2C—you understand that the employer is the buyer, the member is the user, and trust with both is non-negotiable.

  • Data-driven approach to community and social—you track what matters, draw the right conclusions, and use insights to improve.

  • Highly organized and self-directed with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines without losing quality.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in digital health, chronic condition management, or a similarly mission-driven healthcare environment.

  • Familiarity with the employer-sponsored benefits space—you understand how benefits decisions are made and how members experience their employer's health offerings.

  • Experience with short-form video content creation (Reels, TikTok-style, or YouTube Shorts).

  • Comfort using AI tools to accelerate content creation, social listening, and community analysis—while maintaining a human, authentic voice.

  • Experience with community platforms such as Circle, Mighty Networks, or Slack communities.

  • Background in patient advocacy, health coaching, or consumer health engagement.
