About the Role:

1Password is seeking a strategic and analytically driven Market Intelligence Director - Product Strategy to play a critical role in our evolution within the cybersecurity, identity, and productivity software markets. This high-impact role will directly support the Chief Product Officer and collaborate closely with Product, Design, Corporate Development, Strategic Finance, and Marketing to bring external insight into internal decision-making.

You will develop and operationalize market intelligence capabilities to help the product organization make data-informed strategic bets, prioritize roadmaps, and position 1Password to win in a rapidly evolving landscape.

What To Expect:

Market & Competitive Intelligence

  • Build and maintain a market and competitive intelligence function that identifies trends, tracks competitors, and benchmarks 1Password across key market segments.

  • Deliver actionable insights and strategic recommendations to product, design, and GTM stakeholders.

  • Monitor emerging trends and opportunities across cybersecurity, identity, privacy, and AI.

Product & Portfolio Strategy Support

  • Partner with the CPO on strategic planning, opportunity assessments, and multi-year roadmap framing.

  • Size and segment markets (TAM/SAM/SOM) and identify whitespace opportunities.

  • Develop customer, category, and competitive insights to support product vision and prioritization.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work with Corporate Development and Strategic Finance on partnership and M&A diligence.

  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to refine positioning, messaging, and competitive enablement, pricing and packaging assessment and solution delivery.

  • Translate market insight into materials for internal briefings, executive discussions, and board updates.

Analyst & External

  • Partner closely with our Marketing AR team on analyst relations and engagement

  • Lead research and insights engagements, leveraging external data sources to complement internal hypotheses.

  • Prepare and shape compelling narratives for analyst briefings and vendor assessments.

What We Are Looking For:

Experience & Background

  • 7–10 years of experience in market intelligence, product strategy, management consulting, corporate strategy, or competitive analysis within SaaS, cybersecurity, or enterprise software.

  • Demonstrated success driving insight-to-action across cross-functional product and GTM teams.

  • Strong grasp of industry trends across cybersecurity, identity, SaaS, and digital consumer and developer markets.

Skills & Capabilities

  • Strategic thinker with exceptional synthesis and storytelling skills — able to distill complex signals into focused, actionable insight.

  • Strong analytical and research toolkit — including market modeling, segmentation, and competitor profiling.

  • Highly collaborative; able to influence and align across multiple functions.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to senior executives.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with a bias toward action.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in or with cybersecurity or identity companies is a strong plus.

  • Familiarity with research platforms such as Gartner Peer Insights, AlphaSense, Crunchbase, and PitchBook.

MBA or equivalent experience preferred, but not required.
USA-based roles only: The annual base salary for this role is between $217,000 USD and $293,000 USD plus immediate participation in 1Password's benefits program (health, dental, 401k and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.

Canada-based roles only: The annual base salary for this role is between $200,000 CAD and $270,000 CAD, plus immediate participation in 1Password’s generous benefits program (health, dental, RRSP and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.
