Job Description

Your Role

As a Manufacturing Engineer you will be responsible to drive factory improvements in the technical manufacturing departments through a strong showing of initiative and active participation in the Manufacturing Engineering Team activities as well as clear planning and building of cross functional relationships.

A Typical Day

  • Identify initial concepts including design for new processes or tooling relating to equipment including costing and recommend production rates.
  • Preparation of equipment specifications and capital expenditure requests for funding when part of project.
  • Manage outside contractors on implementation of projects.
  • Review methods of manufacturing to ensure that the most economical approach is utilized.
  • Participate in the implementation of Plant Automation and Control.
  • Review safety of equipment and systems and provide improvements based on risk assessments.
  • Liaise with R&D and other departments throughout the various project phases for implementing new products in production.
  • Involved with PFMEA process as well as use root cause analysis tools.
  • Assist production on equipment or tooling issues and identify areas for improvement.
  • Assist maintenance with technical information as required for processes or tooling.
  • Display role model behaviours, i.e. integrity, honesty, and keeping to commitments made.
  • Contribute to a positive morale of teams and individuals and provide support wherever necessary.
  • Promote continuous improvement including housekeeping and the maintenance of the Electrolux Manufacturing System systems using EMS principles. 

Core Competencies

  • A degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Mechatronics Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing or similar environment
  • Experience in Continuous Improvement and Automation
  • Experience with CAD design packages, with Inventor application preferable
  • Experience in pneumatics and/or hydraulics
  • Experience in assembly fixtures concepts and design
  • Project Management experience by using MS project (or equivalent)
  • Good use of English language
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Computer literacy in (among others) MS Word, Outlook, Excel and Power Point
  • Experience in metal enamel process or metal press is advantageous
